Scan code po 301 #1

That code indicates a misfire on cylinder one. It may be related to your trip to the ditch or not. You could have gotten snow under the hood which melted and got water into the spark plug galley. This would cause a misfire. It could also just be time for a tune-up. Pull the spark plug wire off and check for moisture. You may also want to go ahead and replace the plugs and wires if they have more than 60,000 miles on them.

My horn didn't work and the air bag light stays on,

There is a electrical connection behind the steering wheel called a click spring. It is a series of wires wrapped up like that of a clock spring that cirlce around as you steer. This part is fairly easy to replace as the steering wheel deassembles very easily. The cost of the part is around 143.00 and is only avaliable at the dealership or maybe you can locate one at the salvage. My 2000 Voyager has the same issue as we speak.

1998 Chevy Prizm A/C and Cooling Fan Problems

Compressor could not work without cooling fan comming on.
Check compressor mounting bolts and belt placement on pulley regarding the noise.
But before we get to the a/c system repairs its important to have a properly working cooling system.

Is the car overheating ? It should if neither fan works.
If I recall correctly the fan switch is usually on the upper radiator hose coupling.
you may want to test the fan(s) its self. Remove the electical connectors fron the fan(s) , fabricate a set of jumper wires and run it from the battery. If this works the fan(s) are ok . If it doesn't replace the ones that don't work.
The coolant switch aka fan switch is usually tested with an ohmmeter . Use shop manual for testing procedure.
Test the a/c fan and engine cooling fan relays. (see shop manual for details)
Then I would start looking at coolant( correct mixture and thermostat2_bing.gif) although the thermostat is not likely to cause this.
If all of this still doesn't correct the problem it may be the ECU that monitors this system it may not be responding to the signal /voltage from coolant temp sensor to turn on the fan, (again nedd shop manual to test this)
Once you have a properly working cooling systemnow you can turn your focus on the a/c. Compressors either work or they don't.For you safety I recommend having the a/c system serviced by a ASE certified Technician or a tech's who legally can perform a/c service. Good luck

The check engine light came on and after

Even hough you used a cleaner it could still be a bad fuel injector. If you get a
Haynes or Chilton manual or something similar for your car, it will tell you reasonably simple ways to diagnose your injectors. That would be my next step before taking it to a shop.

If you look under the hood of your car you will see a White sticker with black letters,It is usualy located under the hood it's self or on the piece om metal that goes over the top of your radiator, or on the inside fender area where the the shock comes through. On this tag it will give you all your engine information including what your Gap should be at for your spark plugs, It will say Gap on the sticker.

Tire suggestion

I have some BF Goodrich tires for my 1994 ford taurus and it has made all the difference when I drive it. Got them from Costco and it came with a pretty nice rebate when I bought all four. They have really good basic tread that performed very well in the snow and ice the past few years. Never had to use my tire chains.

Hesitation when engine cold

Clean Mass Air flow sensor. I initially used electronics contact cleaner spray but it didn't solve the problem. I was going to replace it but decided to clean once more. There was stuff on the wires that I assumed was part of the sensor, but it turned out to be dirt. Had to gently remove it with a q-tip and then sprayed with cleaner again. Sensor is next to the air filter. One connector and 2 screws and it comes right out.
