there is a wire in the tank i had the same problem that goes to the fuel pump it was bad and they replaced the wire no more problems

You should speak with the Chevy Garage in your area for the very latest on the Dex-Cool issue. I wouldn't use the green stuff unless the Service Garage said it was OK. ... and I say this having heard the same stories you have heard and being a Chevy C2500 owner. Get the straight word straight from the horses mouth.

sounds like tumblers in the ignition switch are wore down you need new ignition switch

12-16 ft lbs is recommended. It has an o-ring seal so do not overtighten.

That's a fairly dangerous job, that should be done
on a lift & by people with experience

You will have a problem getting the vehicle supported
high enough off the ground to get it out

Have to support the engine & then a floor jack if you have
one ,will be hard to use to get the trans out

a 1997 c1500 doesnt have a carb it is fuel injected, you poured fuel into the throttle body. when you turn the key to the start position and you do not hear the fuel pump you could have a blown fuse. if not, all chevys have passlock a passive antitheft system that have locked the fuel system down. check some remote start companies on the internet you will find one with a wiring diagram, you can figure out the rest from there. its eas

It sounds like you have two separate switch problems, brake light switch located at the top of the brake pedal arm, loose or broke, and the back-up light switch located on transmission or linkage depending on transmission type. When asking questions always give as much info as possible.

sensor 1 is the first 02 sensor in the exhaust.bank 2 is the side of the motor that cylinder #1 is NOT on,in this case bank 2 would be on the passenger side(right side) of the motor.which means the first 02 sensor in the exhaust on the passenger side of the motor

Depending on the mileage sounds like the timing chain might be bad. Check the timing and maybe ****** the distributor a couple degrees to see if it stops kicking back. Hope this helps

when you have water mixed with your engine oil it indicates that the gasket has burnt due to overheating and the gasket will require changing so will the oil..

If your truck has the "vortex" engine, they are known to have issues with the fuel injection system. There is a block that the fuel enters and then it's sent through a "spider leg" system of lines. these lines are plastic and the tips merely clip into the port in the head. I have taken many apart and sprayed the tips with carb cleaner and that has fixed the problem.

What kind of diagram are you wondering about? If you just take off the three nuts that hold the pipe to manifold, you should be able to pull the pipe down enough to get the doughnut gasket out. If not then unfortunatly you will have to remove both sides. Hope this helps you out in your task.
