the next thing iwould check is the flexplae for cracking. if automatic that is. inspection cover removes easily. look for cracks around crank bolts, also red dusty rust commonly present around older cracks. if broken trans removal required to replace. verify engine to trans aligning dowels present on reassembly.

I ran into a similar issue with a 96 Bronco 4x4. Turns out in order to properly bleed this 1st gen ABS system, you need to use a (mighty-vac) vacuum pump attached to each of the bleeders, longest to shortest line. As odd as it sounds it did fix the same issue. You might want to give it a shot. Good luck!

Your blend door is probibly not moving all the way to vent position. If you put it on vent there is probibly air blowing on floor or defrost. It may also be opening just a fraction and causing back pressure on the blower motor causing the noise. Is there any difference in outside air or recirculate?

Tune up? While the Iridium and Platnum spark plugs may be expected to last 100,000 miles the cap and rotor is not made from these substances so they do not last that long.
Any service engine light? If yes, get the codes from it.
Could also be an ignition module. Autozones can check those for free.

You should speak with the Chevy Garage in your area for the very latest on the Dex-Cool issue. I wouldn't use the green stuff unless the Service Garage said it was OK. ... and I say this having heard the same stories you have heard and being a Chevy C2500 owner. Get the straight word straight from the horses mouth.

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com
