What cause the engine to misfire when first start up after it been sit for a while?

Could just be a loose spark plug wire. Depending on how long it's been sitting animals tend to hide under the hood may have knocked it loose. Drive it to orileys or autozone and they can scan your computer if you have a check engine light on which in my experience with a misfire it sets off the check engine light or your gas could be old also.

96 Chevy Tahoe door lock problem

Hello Scullen27, While I vigorously recommend owners wanting to work on their own vehicles should purchase the FACTORY WORKSHOP MANUALS... for one time little jobs there are a FEW good alternatives... that ae also FREE. BBB Industries maintains an very excellent technical database for popular USA market vehicles: TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS and Circuit wiring diagrams (registration is required... as these are real documents) A fuse would seem to be indicated ... if your control is sound a relay operation... but the REAR-HATCH is not cooperating... THAT WOULD be the place to start, Hope this helps... FREE drawings BBB Industries Premium Alternators Starters Power Steering Products Carnac the Magnificent

My 2004 chevy 1500 v8

If the compressor kick's in when you jumper the relay socket there is no problem with the electrical to the compressor an the compressor isn't locked up . You have a control side problem , the PCM - engine computer is suppose to energize the relay if no other problems are present . The proper way to check this would be to hook up a scan tool an check pressure input's to the PCM an is the PCM getting a request from the HVAC control panel to turn on the A/C compressor . AutoZone is wrong as usual , There can be codes without the check engine light being on . o'reilly's is wrong as well DTC P0530 (LU3, LR4, LM7, LQ4 and L18) The powertrain control module (PCM) or engine control module (ECM) monitors the high side refrigerant pressure via a A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. When the pressure is high the signal voltage is high. When the pressure is low the signal voltage is low. When pressure is too high the PCM will not allow the A/C compressor clutch to engage. Action Taken When the DTC Sets The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will not illuminate. Diagnostic Aids The air conditioning (A/C) compressor clutch will not engage under the following conditions: • The A/C high side line pressure is over 2957 kPa (429 psi). • The A/C low side line pressure is under 138-172 kPa (20-25 psi). • Throttle angle is at 100 percent. • Engine speed is more than 5500 RPM. • Engine coolant temperature (ECT) is more than 121°C (250°F). • Ambient air temperature is less than 5°C (40°F). • Engine is idling at a low unstable RPM Compressor clutch engagement cannot be used to determine status of the low pressure switch. The low pressure switch is one of several inputs to the HVAC control module for A/C request authorization. A/C request is one of several inputs to the powertrain control module (PCM) that control A/C compressor clutch engagement. To accurately determine what pressure the A/C low pressure switch opens and closes at use Kent Moore GE-47742 which will allow the technician to measure the switch point pressure at the switch. Using a scan tool, monitor the "low pressure switch" status while monitoring the "low side" pressure at the switch to determine the switch points of the low pressure switch. The low pressure switch "connector seal" must be removed before plugging it into the switch for testing. The "plunger effect" of plugging the connector with seal into the switch induces a pressure on the back side of the switch, this pressure will skew the opening/closing characteristics of the switch 5-10 psi until the pressure bleeds off. The time required for the connection induced pressure to bleed off can take 20 minutes or longer Do you have the proper diagnostic tools ? Factory scan tool , A/C gauges ? You best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop !!

96tahoe4 door fuel pump removal. the retaining ring is sealed like its spot welded from the factory I'm questioning if the fuel pump has ever been change before.ODOMETER reading is 267000 miles.

The ring that retains the pump in the tank needs to be rotated counterclockwise about 15 - 20 degrees so it will come free. If you are chiseling off any tabs, you may wind up having to replace the entire tank. The tabs locate and lock the retaining ring. See the attached YouTube vehicle. 96 tahoe keeps blowin the dash ,parking and courtesy door lights fuse

That;s fuse #4 check brake switch to ignition do you have curse control that will also come into play . What you really need are the factory manuals and a meter or test light to track this down . A company called HELM .COM prints most factory manuals for most vehicles .50 to 100 dollars you need them to fix especially a 96 Chevy that's the first year OBD 2 they tend to have design problems and are hard to work on .

I replaced fuel pump in 1996 tahoe it wont get gas to start

Are you missing anything else, besides gas? Engine cranking, did you check for spark at the plugs and fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes? Did you check voltage and ground to fuel pump motor, before replacing anything?

You have likely got broken wires where they come out of the cab and into the liftgate. pull back the rubber and check them at that point.

Usually if the third brake light works but not the regular brake lights, the problem is inside the turn signal switch.

Your brake light switch circuit also goes through the BLINKER SWITCH. Did you check that? (Most common culprit in GM vehicles.)

Need to locate ebcm for a 1996 tahoe

The ebcm has nothing to do with the brake lights , the ebcm - electronic brake control module is for the ABS - anti-lock brake system ! Stoplamps Voltage is available at all times through the STOP/HAZ fuse to the torque converter clutch (TCC)/stoplamp switch. With the depression of the brake pedal, the contacts in the TCC/stoplamp switch close. Voltage is available from the stoplamp relay on pickups, or the TCC/stoplamp switch on all of the other vehicles, through the turn/hazard switch to the left stoplamp, the right stoplamp, and the stoplamp lights. If a turn signal is in operation, the stoplamp on that side flashes as a turn signal. The other stoplamp serves as a stop lamp.
