1996 Chevrolet Caprice Classic - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My 96 caprice classic vats security system has y car shut down. I had a after market ATS security chip also in my car and I removed it thinkingvthat was the problem. It wasnt.
OK. Turn on the key, let the light start flashing. Leave the key in the ON position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. The VATS security is supposed to discourage a thief from stealing your car. It will flash for 10 minutes and then it will stop flashing. Now,,,,,, DO NOT turn off the key. DO NOT turn it off. Simply take ahold of the key and crank the car up. It will start and should never happen again, unless someone removes the instrument cluster, the battery, or other vital items like the ECM PCU. Good luck.
STEERING WHEEL NOT CENTERED
You will need to have an alignment performed to center the steering wheel. If any front end steering parts have been changed, the steering angles will be affected causing the sterring wheel to be off center. Also, hitting curbs/potholes can affect the alignment off setting the steering wheel

How to fix trouble code P1509 on a 2000 Ford F150
On the 5.4 aand 4.6 trucks the egr port on the upper intake manifold clogs up with carbon. The other issue is the EGR DPFE ( delta pressure feedback egr sensor) will get condensation inside and through a code. The cheapest thing would be to pull the upper intake elbow and clean it. DO NOT CHANGE THE EGR SENSOR, try cleaning the upper intake first.
Speedometer digital dash
run a test light on the portal it hooks up in if its digital to see if its getting a spark or charge or you could replace the plugs in the back of the compartment
