What type engine? I assume if it is opti-spark it is a v8. L type .Check the routing of wires. GM vehicles are very susceptible to cross fire . Opti-spark distributors are notorious for failure as timing is achieved by a laser eye reading slots of a rotating disk and sending that data to the pcm. It was GM biggest failure. Check the installation especially the cap. Voltage will fluctuate anytime and engine's timing or firing if not on point.

The digital speedo is repairable. The issue is, the contacts of the display are no longer making good contact with contacts on circuit board. A good gauge repair service should be able to rectify the issue. Good luck. Ron @ Speed-O-Repair.

I believe 92 to 98 on your transmission. GM put a lot of those transmissions in cars. You just have to get one with the same engine size as yours. A salvage yard should be able to tell you..

Unless you have a LOT of experience modifying cars, you BETTER stick with the manufacturer model of transmission that was already on the car. Some older GM's you could swap out / upgrade transmissions for small-blocks (like replace the 200-metric with a 350-Turbo <HIGHLY RECOMMENDED>, or upgrade the 350 Turbo to a 400 Automatic <check to make sure your car make/model will have enough clearance to allow this>. Fords & Chryslers are not near as forgiving, however. For most of those automatics, stick with the original model type that came with the car. BUT DEFINITELY CANNOT CHANGE DIFFERENT MAKE + MODEL CARS' TRANSMISSIONS (they are NOT interchangable).

Replace speed sensor in transmission, or replace instrument cluster depending on which is at fault.

Could be the speed sensor in the transmission or could be the instrument itself in the cluster, depending on which one you replaced.

sounds like the ground for the cluster is loose or corroded.

Remove instrument cluster and have it tested or, if you have access to a scanner with data-stream capabilities, you could check to see if vehichle speed sensor is emitting proper voltage /signal.

Check the harness that plugs into the cluster. take your time and make sure it plug in correctly. Its trickly and easy to break. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Do you have power in and out of the dimmer switch on the high and low circuits ?

they are not ajustable but the range is 0v to 5v not o and not5if it 0v coding if it 5 v codingevery thing in between graduate from .06 v to 4.8v
