Just bought my vette last Sept. had a similar problem. the AC would work for a while and then shut off. ad a loose plug connecter at the compresser. tried to get a new plug but it is a part of the wireing harness. got a couple of spade clips. cut off the old plug and connected it with the spade clips. end of problem hope this helps. I am not a mechanic just a "tinkerer"

The fuel pressure need to be 48psi to 55 psi. The fuel pressure has to be correct inorder for it to start you said you have fule pressure then we need to assume the pressure is good first check for power at the injector with key on engine off If you dont have power check the engine fuse box for a open fuel injector fuse replace if there is a open fuse , then check the ground signal that comes from the ECM this should be a on off ground signal Now you check this on left and right bank since your vehicle injector is bank fired . You will also need to check the injector relays there should be 2 one for left and one for right more than likely you have the ijector harness disconnected so follow the wire to its junction and make sure its realy connected not just looks connected

do you check for fuel check the fuel psi. check for any blown fuse o relay

The door switch must be tested either reading volts when the problem happens, or disconnecting switch wiring. If the stereo is involved in the problem the wiring at the back of the stereo must also be checked. In there you find a 12V memory wire that is always hot, if that is shorting the light may come on at random times.

If the switch is OK and there is no short test the relay and the diode module located under the passenger dash. Testing is done reading volts when the problem happens to check what wiring is getting 12V to lamp.

Here the relay picture, the relay is the 4th from the right. Relays can be tested by swapping them (e.g with the fog lamp relay, if fog lamps come on and dome light works, then relay was the problem):

Hi,me a kiwi also.Just trying to think what might have happened here.Sounds a bit like a fuel problem.have you put new fuel in it.(yes you would probably had to drain the fue before shipping)Was there some type of inhibitor put in the tank or worse still water or something.There is some odd people in this world who suffer from jealousy etc.You maybe have to look at the problem from this point of view.WhatI mean from this is those people in shipping and wharfs etc. All the best.Lovely car.

If your Corvette has the LT1 engine then it likely has a problem with the Opti-Spark distributor. These are a notorious problem with the LT1. It is mounted on the water pump and when that water pump seal starts to leak it leaks into the distributor housing causing condensation. Search the web for the various kits that fix this issue. there are several web sites that discuss the Opti-Spark and how to upgrade.

1- could be spark plugs fouled.
2-Fuel injection system needs adjustment or repair.
3-Fuel filter clogged
4-incorrect ignition timing
5-Intake manifold air leak

This is a strange one!
The best way to charge the battery is with it disconnected.
But saying that it should charge with it connected.
The only thing i can think of is not a good enough connection between the charger and the +cable
Anyway i hope this is the answer to the problem

there are four screws that u push down on and turn counter clockwise as you push down, they hook under the distributor, then disconnect the wiring harness and pull the cap off

Resetting Engine oil Life Monitor
1, turn key to on, but do not start.
2. Press ENG MET button on the Trip Monitor within five seconds.
3. Within five seconds of step 2, press and hold RANGE button on the Trip Monitor. The CHANGE OIL light will flash.
4.Hold the RANGE button until the CHANGE OIL light stops flashung and goes out. This should take about 10 seconds.

If it doesn't reset turn key off and repeat the procedure. Careful to observe the "within 5 seconds"
