1990 Chevrolet Crew Cab Questions & Answers
My plow will not go
Sounds like battery cable problems. The motor for the pump comes on anytime you pust a button and the pump makes pressure that goes thoegh a soliniod valve that you selected with the switch. The motor itself might be bad or the wire connected to it is'nt making, of course the salt and ther things plowed wreack havac witht he wire connections and get right into the motor. Useing a test light and a helper being careful if the plow were to move that you can get out of the way of it's motion. there's a power wire on the motor touch the test light to the connection and see if hitting the switch lights the light. This connection right at the motor is most likly and then ther connection at the battery. The control gets it's power from key on power but the motor gets it's power from the battery though the soliods relay. The power is getting to the motors connection you might knock on the motor with the power on. It's safer to do this with a jumper cable the motor should run if touched with a hot cable. remember be out of harms way as the plow can move and get you. Cleaning all the connections of the big battery cables will likly fix it if the motors good and the soioids are clicking and their wires are connected cleanly.
I have a 1990 chevy
This means your plugs are miss firing so gas is coming in and not being ignited. You will need to change all the wires and plugs.

It's just TOO cold!
No, there is no easy way to get those out. The whole dash needs to come out before you can even start to get to it. Not to mention, depending on what type of motor you have, some of it may need to be taken apart just to get to a few bolts. I had a customer ask why a heater core replacement is so expensive, and the best answer seems to be, is that an engine swap and transmission replacement is easier and requires less labor. You could in theory, do it yourself. But what are those hours really worth to you?
Heater core on a 2003 Chevrolet pickup 4 wheel drive crew cab
if you have air conditioning you will need to take it to a garage and recover the r134, you will need to remove the dash to allow you to remove the heater box, it's an ugly job, I've done a dozen or so and can do it in about 6 hours now, the first time it was closer to 11 hrs, good luck
