ECM-1 keeps blowing 1990 chevy astro

Without any schematic diagram it sounds like the ECM has a short in it or something the ECM is connected to. Without a schematic for your particular car it is difficult to tell you the EXACT proble. Blown fuses means you are overloading the fused circuit. Just make sure the fuse is the correct size. Thats the best i can do with the Information i have Good luck

My 1990 Astro van runs

Sounds like you hit almost all the high spots... You left out the fuel rail pressure & volume... and my FAVORITE... (which will provoke quite a few of your troubles (but with little regard to ambient outside temperature))... A blocked exhaust Muffler and/or catalytic convertor. Check out rockauto.com prices BEFORE going to the muffler shop. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,1990,astro,4.3l+262cid+v6,1027976,exhaust+&+emission When you do find the trouble... date all those good spares... I took my first EASTER EGG HUNT a step further and bought that SPARE ECM (I always wanted). Carnac the Magnificent

I posted about my AWD quit working on my 1990 Astro AWD.

What makes a car AWD is the fact that there is a diff in the transfer case in the gear box . This allows the front diff and the back diff to operate at different speeds from the road surface just as one wheel can go faster in turns than the other side.. To say that the AWD is not working would mean that it is not going any where as the rear or the front will have no drive because the diff will not be operating as a diff.

Power windows wiring diagram

May be a bad motor. Check for power and ground. One wire will have power and the other will be grounded, when you press the window switch down it will be reversed, It grounds through the drivers switch.

90 astro, gas gauge goes to full then drops when

The grond wire near the transmission mount has failed. The crossmember that goes under the rear transmission mount has the wire harness for the fuel pump and the gas gauge on it. This grond bolt is a steet metal bolt screwed into the top of the cross member near the middle of the vrhical on the passenger side. To repair this problem find this bolt and unscrew it, clean the cross menber and the bolt and the wire. ( they might look clean but they need scraped off) to make sure you fix it I attach another peice of wire under this same bolt and run it up to the battery box. following the negitive battery cable it attaches to the body near ther battery with another bolt . clean this connection also and then attach your new wire to your newly attached wire. It's possible to fix it just cleaning these and other ground connections till you find the one thats not making. The japaniese cars always already have these ground wires on all cicuits and don't have these kinds of problems like this american one does.

What condition is the spark plugs in? Where the ignition wires replaced? This seems to be associated with one or both. Is there a check engine light on or trouble codes stored in the PCM?

I have a 90 Chevy astro van, I am told that to

Good Evening, to secure it to its original position yes you do. What I have seen a lot of with a vehicle with as much age is they push it behind the tank in the frame rail and catch the other end as it passes out from behind it. Hope that answers your question.

Steering column loose and sloppy and tilt is loose

Your best solution maybe to replace the column. It is rather involved to repair this problem, including needing specialized tools.
