It would not start, and remote would not unlock the doors.

Do the headlights work? Interior lights? Not enough information. Sounds like a dead battery. Will it jump start? Have you checked the fuses? Could be as simple as a corroded or loose battery connection.

How to Replace power steering hose on 2003 Pontiac montana

Very simple. Put the car on ramps. Remove the the fittings on both ends along with any clamps and remove the hose. Caution, these fittings can be very tight. You may need a flare nut wrench or self tightening wrench to get them loose. Be very careful not to cross thread fittings when installing. The hoses go from the pump to the rack and pinion unit under the car.

Thermostat

The only hard part will be removing the exhaust crossover pipe. This piece must be removed in order to get to the thermostat housing. Other than that all you have to remove is the air cleaner box and pull the hose off of the housing. Getting to the bolts is a little tricky, but a hand do-it-yourselfer can usually find a way to get to them. I'd recommend finding a couple of long extensions once you get to that point

Where are the fusible links for the starter in a 2003 montana

I believe one is right next to the starter, front, just right of center when standing facing your engine compartment....down at about the same elevation from the ground as the bottom of the radiator. Can't remember any others, but I do think there is at least one more...good luck and be save...ohh and when you start working on this fusible link I've pointed out for you...take extra precaution to avoid the 12 volt cable connection on the battery that comes from the battery. I think I would disconnect the battery before starting...

Changing a battery in a 2003 montana

whole it can be done by yourself, my advice is to get a battery shop to do it as they have a unit that plugs into the vehicle wiring and maintains the ecm/CPU program and all the codes for radio and the like They will not fit the wrong polarity and generally have a good idea of what they are doing. The fitting of the battery is normally free with a new battery.

How to get the battery out

The battery in the 2003 Pontiac Montana is located in the engine compartment on the passenger's side just behind the headlight assembly. Changing the battery can be a little challenging because the Pontiac saw fit to bury it below several other parts in the van. The under-hood fuse box sits directly above the battery and a cross brace runs over the top of it as well. Dealing with both items is not complicated but does add time to the process. How do I replace the battery in a 2003 Pontiac Montana

Removal Procedure Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components. Caution: Batteries generate hydrogen gas, which is extremely flammable and may explode violently if ignited by a spark or a flame. Battery acid is extremely corrosive and causes severe personal injury if the acid comes into contact with the skin, and blindness if the acid comes into contact with the eyes. In order to avoid severe personal injury, use extreme caution when servicing the battery or battery-related components.
  1. Remove and reposition the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.
