Where did you hear that one at . There isn't anything ,no connector ,no purple wire that gets corroded . Without proper service information , wiring diagrams etc... This diagnoses could take sometime . There is a ppl wire from the PCM / Crank fuse 10amp located in the instrument panel fuse box . When you turn the key to start B+ voltage is supplied to that fuse . from there it goes to the PCM crank sense input . From there the PCM energizes the starter relay sending B+ voltage to the starter solenoid . Turning over the engine . Suggest you look at a wiring diagram at
