Broken linkage

It will not engage/ start turning the engine It may just spin and not engage the ring gear turns very slow on a fully charged battery

On the side of the throttle body, the body of IAC points towards the front.

look right in front of you the cluster has your speedometer gas gauge etc,,,

its not the chain that has marks. it is the cam and crank gears

It maybe your idler arms. When was the last time you had a wheel alignment? I would take it in for an alignment diagnosis. Describe what you stated and have idler arms checked.

sounds like the rear end pinion bearings, or drive shaft

fuse 6 underhood, fuse 17 under dash, also these vehicles break wires in boot between door and body.

If you had someone else do the change. take it back! If you DIY I guess you learned something, you forgot a new grease seal, or you forgot the retention device for the retention nut and it has now backed off enough to destroy the seal and possibly the bearing. One honk means all doors are closed. Door ajar you have 2 honks telling you a door is open. My 03 Explorer has had the door ajar light on for awhile

I'd say your torque converter is going out.

First of all is the check engine light on an flashing ? An what engine does it have 4.6 or 4.0 L ? It sounds to me like a misfire , plugs ,plug wires , ignition coil , plugged fuel injector . That guy's info is wrong , your vehicle doesn't have electronic throttle control ,there for no throttle potentiometer. its a box above the acc pedal which sends a signal to the ecu. Yours does have a TPS - throttle position sensor located on the throttle body under the hood in the engine compartment ! But this is not the cause of your problem !

just a thought but might be a clogged catalytic converter in exhaust system.

How does it idle in park , does it run ruff or smooth? Are any lights lit on the dash , check engine etc. ? Could have a partially plugged IAC air passage .idle air control (IAC) valve ! The engine computer uses the IAC to control idle , when under a load such as when put into gear the computer raises the idle ! It does this by allowing more air to by pass the closed throttle into the engine raising the idle ! If these air passages clog they restrict the air flow an cause a idle problem ! The throttle position sensor is located in the throttle body right off to the side!

You have the tire off. So take the brake clapper off.then the roder should come right off. Lay the roder down and hit the bad stud with a hamer it should come out easy. Put a new one in the same way but from the back.
