My 2000 Ford Taurus will not start because of the security system

When I try to start my car my battery is turning over but will not start because of the security system. I have read the manual and done the steps it says but still not working. Any Ideas?

the security system resets itself after about 15 minutes. If it was the security system, the car would not crank over. Why do you think it's the security system?
do you have gas in tank?

Is it a Ford security system, with the flashing light on the dash?

Principles of Operation
The PATS uses a specially encoded ignition key, this key is not compatible with previous vehicles or any current model year vehicles. Each specially encoded ignition key contains a permanently installed electronic device called a transponder. Each transponder contains a unique encrypted identification code out of over 18 billion, billion combinations.
Each encoded ignition key must be programmed into the vehicle's powertrain control module (PCM) before it can be used to start the engine. There are special diagnostic repair procedures outlined in this manual that must be carried out if a new encoded ignition key is necessary.
This system contains a new feature named Unlimited Key Mode. This feature allows a customer to program more than eight keys to their vehicle if they request it. Each vehicle in Unlimited Key Mode is set up with a special Unlimited Transponder Security Key. This allows all the customer vehicles to share the same keys, but no other keys from outside can be used to operate the vehicles. For an individual customer, any randomly selected Security Key is acceptable. Refer to Key Programming—Unlimited Key Mode in this section.
The PATS transceiver module communicates with the encoded ignition key. The module is located behind the steering wheel column shroud and contains an antenna connected to a small electronics module. During each vehicle start sequence, the transceiver module reads the encoded ignition key identification code and sends data to the PCM.
The control functions are contained in the PCM. This module carries out all of the PATS functions, such as receiving the identification code from the encoded ignition key and controlling the engine enable. The PCM initiates the key interrogation sequence when the vehicle ignition switch is turned to RUN or START.
All elements of the PATS must be functional before the engine is allowed to start. If any of the components are not working correctly, the vehicle will not start.
The PATS uses a visual theft indicator. The indicator will prove out for three seconds when the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START under normal operation. If there is a PATS problem, this indicator will either flash rapidly or glow steadily when the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START. The PATS system also flashes the theft indicator every two seconds at ignition OFF to act as a visual deterrent.
The PATS will be activated and will disable the vehicle from starting if there is a:

  • improper encoded ignition key (example — Taurus/Sable key).
  • damaged encoded ignition key.
  • unprogrammed key.
  • non-encoded key (key has no electronics).
  • damaged wiring.
  • damaged transceiver.

P1237 - Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Malfunction

Electronic Returnless Fuel Systems (ERFS) utilize a Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) to control fuel pressure. The PCM uses a Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (FRP) for feedback. The PCM outputs a duty cycle to the FPDM to maintain the desired fuel rail pressure. During normal operation, the PCM will output a FP duty cycle from 5% to 51%. The FPDM will run the fuel pump at twice this duty cycle, e.g. if the PCM outputs a 42% duty cycle, the FPDM will run the fuel pump at 84%. If the PCM outputs a 75% duty cycle, the FPDM will turn off the fuel pump.

If the FPDM does not out any diagnostic signal, (0 or 100% duty cycle), the PCM sets a P1233 DTC. This DTC is set if the FPDM loses power. This can also occur if the Inertia Fuel Switch is tripped.

If the FPDM outputs a 25% duty cycle, it means that the fuel pump control duty cycle is out of range. This may occurs if the FPDM does not receive a valid control duty cycle signal from the PCM. The FPDM will default to 100% duty cycle on the fuel pump control output. The PCM sets a P1235 DTC.

If the FPDM outputs a 75% duty cycle, it means that the FPDM has detected an open or short on the fuel pump control circuit. The PCM sets a P1237 DTC.

if your rear diver side

if your rear diver side tire is tilted inward at the top what can that mean. on a 2000 Ford Taurus.

If your car is front wheel drive, this probably means one of three things. 1. Your axle is bent, and you need to have it replaced. This would probably cause a bouncing motion in your car as you are driving. 2. Your suspension parts are bad on that wheel. For this you can take a look without removing any parts from the car. Just look behind the wheel at the spring that is there. Is the spring broken? Your car will probably be sitting very low on that corner if this is the case. If t is not your spring, there should be a shock or strut (just looks like a hydraulic tube either in the middle of the spring, or right next to it. Is this part fully compressed? If so, you will need it replaced ... if not, then you have a different issue. 3. Your tire might not be bolted on as tightly as it should be. Jacking up the car and tightening the lug nuts will fix this problem.
The only other thing I could think it would be (which is very unlikely considering that it is a rear tire) would be tie-rod ends. The way to check this is to jack up the car and push on the tire -- top and bottom, then left and right. If the lug nuts are tight, and the tire moves up and down or left and right, then you probably have bad tie-rod ends and they will need to be replaced. This is VERY unlikely on the rear tires of a car because the tie rods are a part of the steering system. The only car that I have heard of that COULD have this issue would be a Honda Prelude 4WS (it has steering parts on all 4 wheels -- 4ws = 4 wheel steering).
If none of these are the problem, you might have a bent rim, but this is also VERY unlikely, because a rim bent enough to notice visually will usually not hold a tire.
