It depends on which rear end is in your truck. There may be a plug about half way up the back cover on the differential, or it may be on the front passenger side of the rear end. The plug will come out using a 3/8 drive ratchet. Make sure you use a screwdriver or something to clean the hole out before you try to turn it. If you don't get it clean then the ratchet will slip and round the corners of the plug and then it isn't coming out.
Add your oil until it starts to leak out the plug hole. Then it is full and put the plug back in. You need to know if you have a limited slip differential or not. Limited slip takes special oil. Regular rear ends take 80-90 gear oil. Hope this helps.

its a pain in the *** but you can take the door panel off and detatch the automatic motor and push it up by hand just watch your fingers in the tracks and then reattatch the auto motor when up

Pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, #10330. It has one as well as some excellent help with repairs. It costs about $20. Hope this helps.

try pouring seafoam in carb helped me

check the wiring and have the plug tested.

check fuses and check for a burnt fusable link in the wiring.

check your carb and manafold might need cleaned or replaced,check to see if your spark is hot enough the more blue it is the better.check plug wires also.

check your wires,and mak sure they are seated right.then check your timeing and vacume to the dist.

should start checking for a grounded wire.

check all the ball joints and make sure they have greese in them.check al connecting rods also,and look at all the bushings.specialy around the sway bar.

try autozone.com or you can buy a hains book for around 12-14 dollars at any auto parts store.

check the vacume hose that goes to the trans and check the detent rod to the trans,might need adjusted.

check the cap and rotor

self from the dripstick while the motor is running if its automatic
manual gear only when you put the car in a lift theres a fill bolt .till it pours out thats the level.

You most like have a worn locking ring on the 3rd/4th gear syncronizer. If your mechanicly inclined this is a project that can be handled.

Wow, a reply about an Australian based engine. I'm thinking since there is no reply that he just may have a US based engine just posted the wrong size. in which case this might help.
