I have a 1995 buick century. i want to flush

Hi, if there is not a petcock or plug at the bottom of the radiator, you can just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant. Many cars do not have drain plugs. Please let me know if you have more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Rear wheels will not move

Seeing it is a 1995 I am assuming that it has drum brakes on the back? If it is , then the brakes have seized to the drums.Usually taking a hammer and giving the outside of the drums a couple good hits they will un seize almost everytime.Dont be afraid to give them a good hit they will NOT break they are very strong.Hope this helps you and as you drive it they will work free after initial unseizing

Where is the heater core

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

Ignition Switch
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
The switch is located inside the channel section of the brake pedal support and is completely inaccessible without first lowering the steering column. The switch is actuated by a rod and rack assembly. A gear on the end of the lock cylinder engages the toothed upper end of the rod.
Lower the steering column, be sure to properly support it.
Put the switch in the OFF, unlocked position. With the cylinder removed, the rod is in the lock position when it is in the next to the uppermost detent. The OFF, unlocked position is two detents from the top.Remove the two switch screws and remove the switch assembly
To install:
Before installing, place the new switch in the OFF, unlocked position and make sure the lock cylinder and actuating rod
are in the OFF, unlocked (third detent from the top) position.
Install the activating rod into the switch, then assemble the switch onto the column. Tighten the mounting screws. Use only the specified screws since over length screws could impair the ability of the steering column to collapse. Reinstall the steering column.

I have a 96 Buick

You will need to inspect the wiring that goes into the fuse block. At the firewall the block connects in two sections. One inside the engine compartment and the other inside the interior. Any corrosion or loose mounting screw that holds these together can cause a short at times

How to remove and replace

remove the negative battery cable, if you lie down in front of the car, you will see the starter on the front of the engine, has a couple of 15mm bolts holding it in. unplug it if its got a plug, and take the wire off... probably a 10mm. when you install the new one dont let the stud turn when you put the wire back on with the 10mm, if it turns you may as well go get another starter, just a little move wont hurt nothing, but if you move it far, save yourself some time and get another...bolt back in, plug wire in, reconnect battery cable, and your on your way.

Need to replace rear shock and strut assembly. I

Parts houses sell a complete assembly now,(spring and strut W/bearing) Much easier to replace the assembly, that way you don't have to compress the spring. Plus that way the factory ride height is restored.Just the 2 bolts at the lower mount and 3 nuts inside the rear cargo area.
