I have a 1995 Buick

Fourth gear in your vehicle doesn't exist. What feels like a fourth gear is the torque converter locking up. The lockup lockup is controlled by a solenoid in the side pan of the transmission, and the solenoid is controlled by the ECM (electronic control module) in response to several pressure, temperature and speed sensors etc. To determine which component is the problem you'll need a professional transmission mechanic with the proper diagnostic equipment.

Brake lights sticking on can't

Most likely the brake light switch under your brake pedal arm. Remove it and test it by clicking it manually, if it sounds like it is engaging and releasing (clicking) test with multimeter set to OHMs. Test leads on each terminal, meter should give a reading when you work the switch manually. If not, replace.

Ok,i have a 1995 buick

Based on the age of the car I'd say the window motors are shot, you can probably find replacements at an auto parts store or junk yard? But with junk yard motors you could have the same problem next week. They are not difficult to replace, you just have to pull off the door panel on the inside and the new one should bolt right into place of the old one. You may have to drill out the old rivets, but the new one should have bolts to replace. You'll probably have to spend about $100 per side, but that's a lot better then $400-500 a repair shop will charge.

My car cut off while

its the fuel pump going bad and also your fuel filter might need a new filter because if the fuel filter is plugged up to the point that the fuel pump is working too hard to try to pump the gasoline through the filter and can destroy the fule pump so if there is no gasoline coming through the gas lines that means check for filter and pump. Usually some times you can hear the fuel pump working on some models like a humming sound in the back of car.

Where is the starter located

For 1995 Buick Century the starter is located in the front of the engine near the transmission bell housing.

To remove, disconnect the battery negative, mark and note where the different wires go on the starter terminals, remove the wiring from the starter, then remove 2 x 14mm bolts that hold the stater in place, slide the starter out an down, reverse to install.

Hope this helps (remmeber to rate and comment this answer).

Water mixing with oil

Stop driving this car immediately to prevent further damage until you can have it evaluated. Your head gasket is blown. This will not get better and you cannot fix it yourself. If the engine is high mileage, it may not be worth repairing. I would guess the minimum repair bill on this to be $1000.00.

No start car died while driving. wants to start

Hi, there is no sure way to check valve timing except to remove the cover, as there is no access hole to observe the timing marks. If your compression is low, that is a pretty good indicator. What you describe does sound like a chain that has slipped a couple teeth. Would you like instructions for removing the cover? If yes, which engine do you have?

My 1995 buick century a/t

sometimes if this happens the check engine light is on, Is it? If it is scan it or have it scanned to see why the light is on. the third gear is controllered by the engine control computer and thiers a soilind in the left outher side case of the transmission. Most honest transmission shops will fix this problem without requireing you to have the entire transmission rebuilt but if your showing more than 100 thousand miles and the trans has'nt been rebuilt then they'll reconmend rebuilding it anyway as the transmission is highly worn and if they work on it at all they stand to risk other things going wrong and you may blane them for the next problem and they'll rebuild it completly to cover thenselfs even if it's good right now.

The fuse for the cigarette

either the lighter or something else protected by the same fuse is defective, drawing too much current and blowing the fuse. that is what it is supposed to do. if you can get at the back of the lighter, pull the wiring connector plug off and then reinstall the fuse. if it does not blow then you need a new lighter, if it continues to blow out then you need to find what else is on the fuse's circuit and disable it.

No turn signal, fuse good.

If the hazards work normal, the problem will not be with the flasher unit.Try switching bulbs with the other side.If the problem switches also,it is the bulb.If the problem DOES NOT also switch, there is likely a problem with the wiring. Also, there used to be a contact plate within the steering wheel. If there is an airbag in the steering wheel,it will be very difficult to check.Greg Also,it could be the switch which activates the turn signal if the problem does not switch when the bulbs are switched.
