It is in the circuit board itself,or the plug in,in the back of the cluster, removal, and checking it,and tightening the terminals up,by gently bending them to fit tighter might help.

My 1983 mazda 626 wont turn over, I have changed
It sounds like either the starter or ignition switch is bad. The easiest way to check which is at fault is to look at the dash lights when you go to crank it over. If when you crank it over the dash lights dim slightly, then that tells you that it is probably not your ignition switch. I would then look towards the starter being the problem. Possibly just a wire loose or off. If when you crank it over the dash lights do not dim slightly, then it is probably your ignition switch. Hope this helps.
Where is the water pump
The water pump is located in the timing belt cover you will have to remove the timing belt
to change it .. it would be a great idea to change your timing belt too !!

Brakes
us a large " C " clamp and place one end on the back side of the caliper and the other end on the piston side ( place the old brake pad over the hollow part of the piston hole ) nd slowly tighten the " C " clamp. you will need to do this slowly as I say or the brake fluid will squirt out of the top of the master cylinder.
Good luck and I hope that this helps you.
Where is the trunk light switch/sensor located in a 1999 mazda 626
I am not sure where the switch is located ... but I had generic trunk lid light issues on an older car. It turned out NOT to be a switch issue ... but a wiring issue. The trunk had been opened enough times over the years that the covered/taped wire bundle that goes from the body to the trunk had flexed too many times and right around the hinge area several wires had broken. The problem was found by doing a number of continuity checks on the wiring after I had frustratingly looked at all switches and light bulbs!!
