There are a number of sensors and controls that can cause this problem (mainly MAF, TPS, IAC motor, EGR valve, O2 sensor) and you will have to figure out which one (or more) is causing the problem. First check for error codes with an OBDI code checker and follow up on the results.

Oil pressure sender location
It is located at the very back of the engine up top. You will need a special socket to remove it. See photo.

Odometer quit working
I have a 96 Ford Explorer Sport and I noticed that the odometer and the Trip meter had stopped working. I pushed the Trip meter to 0 it out. When to town and I had not went even one mile. I had indeed went 22 miles. What caused it to stop?

Wont go over 35 mph
had that problem with a ford LTD years ago. Turned out to be the muffler. The baffles inside were loose and would block the exhaust flow as it increased with higher speed. Hope that helps.

There is an updated 4wd actuator (front differential) for this exact problem. The dealer is the only place that has the updated actuator and wiring harness. There are instructions with the actuator, depending on your mechanical skill level, might consider professional. Scale 6 out 10.
