How do i install thermostat in 84 gmc s15 jimmy
Where top hose goes to engine..take off clamp when not hot. Cud b hard to git at. Thermo is rite there. Put the new one in same way...careful dont reverse it. Inspect both hoses for wear. Doin at a partstore is helpful

First thing to check is fuse. At this time of year, if you;re in freezing country and the wiper blades are stuck in snow or ice, trying to use them can cause the fuse to blow. Make sure the wiper blades and linkages are not stuck.

How can I start without a key
Follow the steering column down under the dash, close to the bottom where it goes through the firewall will be the ingnion switch. remove the screws from the switch and remove switch. Turn the switch over, you can then see the slot in the back where the rod goes into it from the key switch. You can push this over with your finger and it will turn the engine over and start it.

They go across the gas tank. Once they are off, if needed, locate remaining bolts on the edge of the tank. It will then come down.

What happened is the tube that goes thru the radiator sprung a leak and coolant is getting in the trans and visa-vera so the answer that you got is 100% correct. But you have to change trans fluid and coolant and do NOT drive or you will be buying a new trans. Thanks
