Just curious to know more about the clutch safety

The way the clutch switch works not to be to simplistic is the vehicle will not crank unless you have the clutch pushed in. It may be that you need to replace the switch its not hard or expensive to do. You may also be able to adjust it The neutral safty switch is feed from the clutch switch thats the master control because if the vehicle is not running you realy woun't need the neutral safety switch. You have a 2003 this switch should last longer then that the clutch switch. So look up under the dash at the top of the clutch pedal you will see a switch attached to the top fof the pedal and it will have a plastic threaded rod with a adjustment nut to control when the switch is triped to the on pisition adjust this nut so that the switch is compressed sooner and activates the switch with less travel distance before it gets to the floor. You still may need a new switch it depends but its inexpensive and easy to replace and will likely correct this problem

Sounds like it needs to be maintained ( oil change, tuneup, filters ) This can be a desiel and injectors fail and they lose power. Is the check engine light on? If it is look into the reasons the light is on or has come on. Many auto prts stores will look and the check engine light codes with a code reader for free. Don't nessarily but the parts the codes point out unless you know it's time to change these parts anyway.
