Your car is 18 years old. It's likely history. Sell it as is for what you can get.

Why do my day running lights stay on after vehicle is turned off

They should go off in about 20 seconds, I guess you already tried that. Then it must be a stuck relay or shorted wire.

Resetting the passlock

1. First, insert the ignition key and turn the ignition switch to the "On" position (Do not start the engine). Leave the switch on for 11 minutes. The security light may flash or be on steady during this 11 minute period. Make sure the light is no longer on or flashing before proceeding to #2 . 2. Turn the ignition switch off for 30 seconds. 3. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position (as in step #1) for 11 minutes again. 4. Turn the ignition switch off for another 30 seconds. 5. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position for 11 minutes a third time. 6. Turn the ignition switch off for 30 seconds one final time. 7. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position one final time and wait 30 seconds. 8. Attempt to start the engine. If the engine starts and runs normally, the relearn is complete. What other size engine can fit my 2000 Yukon

The best way to get a quick answer to that is to look somewhere like the Kelley Blue Book, to see what engine options came as original equipment (it will ask which you have, in order to set a price, and in the process will list the available engines for that model). However, I would call a vendor that replaces engines, because they could both quote you a price AND tell you which other engines would/would not mate to your existing transmission, which is a very important factor to consider.

Alarm chimes 6-8 times when i turn off

i think that is a factory setting if it is a factory alarm. I have a 2001 and my horn honks once when I set it and no noise when I turn it off.(you probably have a aftermarket alarm)
