sound like some kind of electrical short circuit, check the harness for any place where it could have been exposed to excessive heat and melted

Bleed the brake system, You should have bled the master cyl on the bench before installation..

You should have 12 volts on the purple wire when you turn the ignition key to start and not in run. If you have no voltage on purple wire at starter (and the wire is clean) when key is turned to start, check the fuses (the fuse block is located behind a cover in the dash to the left of the steering column). If fuses are good you may need an ignition switch. Hope this helps.

1987-95 Models
Before attempting parking brake adjustment, make sure that the rear brakes are fully adjusted by making several stops in reverse.

1. Raise and support the rear axle. Release the parking brake.
2. Apply the pedal 4 clicks.
3. Adjust the cable equalizer nut under the vans until a moderate drag can be felt when the rear wheels are turned forward.
4. Release the parking brake and check that there is no drag when the wheels are turned forward.

If the parking brake cable is replaced, prestretch it by applying the parking brake hard about three times before attempting adjustment.

Very common sign of a bad fuel pump. If the fuel pump goes bad, or starts to go bad it starts shorting out and will make all the signs and symptoms that you are talking about.

put a vucuum guage on it straight off manifold vacuum port, and monitor. A steady reading, but a lower than normal reading (lower than 17 hg) indicates an intake manifold leak. Make sure that the accessories that run on vacuum are disconnected, including the brake booster. Measure again to see if there is any improvement.

It's either a loose belt or the pressure regulator inside the pump has failed. I wouldn't leave town until a new power steering pump is installed.

the only way is to have the fuel pressure and volume checked to specs. if its an intermittent problem then it will have to be done when the problem occurs. if the car won`t start try hitting the gas tank and if it starts then the pump is no good.
