The check engine light means something has happened to the performance of the engine to affect emissions. You need to get the computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed.You can research "GM check engine light" online to get the steps to check it yourself.

If it is a V8 engine with throttle body injectors the regulator is next to the injectors on top of the body.

The front park lights work correct? If the front park lights work than there is not a problem with the light switch since the brown wire from the switch supplies power to the front park lights, front side markers, and the rear taillights. There should be twelve volts on the brown wire from the headlight switch with the connector plugged in and the park lights turned on. If this is true that there is a problem with the wiring to the back of the vehicle. A thorough inspection of the harness should reveal the problem. The dim break and blinkers support the above. If you line up the timing marks on the crank pulley, you have a 50/50 chance of the number one cylinder being at top dead center. If it is, the rotor points to the number one plug wire.

6 or 8 cyl ? Were you driving down the road when it happened ?Usually the ignition module is inside the dist and that fires the coil. The coil is either in the cap or mounted on the intake manifold.If the truck has over 100,000 miles the timing chain could be off. A timing light would tell you.

you need to check the grips of the AC and other things . make them tight.. n check fuses. not a big problem.

It sounds like you need a head job. valve guides and seal are bad

Try checking the wiper switch

You need to take off door pull. then unsnap door panel unscrew lock knob. Then slowly raise door panel unhooking it from handle that will still be sticking through. As soon as you have it unhooked from handle you should be able to tip it away far enough to get to switch on inside of panel. There should be harness clip to unplug from switch then unclip the switch. Not to hard just time consuming. Good luck

if u own a 1989 sierra u dont have an obd or obd ll computer on board if high idle all time then search for a possible vacuum leak and or throttle/carb needs adjustment

You have a serious short circuit in the instrument panel and if the fuse did not blow and if you didn't switch of the motor your car could have caught fire.You need an auto electrician to fix this problem. You maybe able to trace down the short circuit by looking for burnt electrical wiring etc. but you also need a wiring diagram to trace the wiring to replace the the damages wiring and any components.

I had similar problems with my surburban run then com back out act like won't start replaced had to replace fuel pump haven't had anymore problems yet

Your master connected to the pedal is bleeding down and letting the pressure to run the slave (the part that actually runs the clutch) catch at different places on the master. Replace the master.

check ignition module, you may have fried it, if motor turns over the solenoid is o.k. -- your probably not getting any fire to the plugs, check to see if you are getting any spark at plugs

have u had the starter tested

You are most likely correct in your assumption ,but best advice i can offer is if it works ok then leave well alone and dont interfere ,could be the AC gas de-pressurising as well just ignore it

well i payed 1500 for mine. but its a 4x4 with a 3in lift and a rebuilt trany with shift kit
