Jackhammer-sounding noise by the driver's rear

We had the same problem and found out that the parking brake drum pad had fallen away from the drum and was rattling around in there. We just had the dealer take it out since we don't use it and problem solved

Poor gas mileage

Cause you're driving a bus. lol. Mileage will vary depending on what fuel you use, how you drive, and where you're located. typically what i've seen on trucks like yours, i'm asuming it's a 6.0 liter, is anywhere from 12-19 mpg. you should see around 15mpg for the most part. if you do a lot of in town driving, expect a lot less. @9-12. if it's less than that, i'd start lokking in to it. try running a K&N air filter and use synthetic engine oil. I've seen noticeable improvements with power and mpg's with that. Also, ensure that your tires are properly inflated as that can make a difference in mileage. use the recomended fuel octane and change fuel filters.

I have a 2006 Yukon denali and it makes a sound

Have the mechanics take you for a test drive
Also have them take you into the service bay

Have them explain their wisdom in terms you
understand. It is a partnership,a working relationship,
your part of that.

I would seem your not confident in their diagnosis,
and you shouldn't be.

Vehicle solutions, are a process of testing.
If that isn't done,your wishing,hoping,pushing,poking,
or on a fishing trip at the customers expense

Airbag light is on my 2006 yukon denali . i

Hi!!
The following can cause the Airbag Light to come ON, or an intermittent condition:
  • A short between the passenger seat belt tension retractor sensor signal, 5-volt reference, and low reference circuits
  • An open or high resistance between the passenger seat belt tension retractor sensor signal, 5-volt reference, and low reference circuits
  • Inspect the passenger seat belt tension retractor sensor signal, 5-volt reference, and low reference circuits carefully for cutting and/or chafing
To reset the Airbag Light, do the following:
  • Turn the ignition to the ON position (don't start the vehicle),
  • Press the brake pedal slowly 3 times within 5 seconds,
  • Turn ignition OFF and remove the key to exit.
  • Start vehicle and check if the Light goes OFF one or two seconds after the engine starts.

I know this process worked on a 2008 Denali, you may have to try it a couple of times. Keep me posted!! Good Luck!!

I have an intermittent starting

I would first suspect the mechanical ignition switch, mounted on top of the steering column by your feet. First remove the splash panel under the steering column.Mark the position with a marker or scribe - it's very important that you re - install that switch in the EXACT position it came from ! Remove the retaining nuts ( or bolts ) securing the steering column to the dash. Carefully lower the steering column - on the top side you'll see a rectangular plastic component with a wire harness on the left ( driver ) side and a metal rod out the back side coming toward the steering wheel. Dismount that ( it's the mech. ign. switch ) and unplug that harness. Inspect the plug for corrosion, burnt blades or rust. clean up any dirt and put dielectric grease on all blades / connections . SMELL the switch - if it smells kinda burned, replace it. If it's not stinky it may still be going bad. When you re - install, check operation of the switch before you remount the column. That metal bar activates the starter, and if the switch is too low your starter won't engage. Also be VERY careful with that airbag - a shock or hard bump to the steering column with the key on could deploy the airbag, potentially causing a serious injury.
Maybe take it to a shop and let THEM have the fun, heh?
Hope this helps!

Just had my oil n filter changed but my trucks

The oil life has to be reset it is done by turn the ignition key to the run with engine off. Fully press and release the gas pedal slowly thre times within 5 seconds. If the oil life reset message flashes for 10 seconds it worked. then turn the key to lock and test to make sure. I retyped this out of a manual but it does say press slowly I always did it fast from the time you turn that key on you have 5 seconds to pump that peadle 3 times to me thats not slow also for some reason I pumped 4 time then hold to the floor. It always worked. The procedure is supose to be in the owners manual if you have any problems look in there.

Someone stole my brake lamp relay out of my fuse

Not sure about any clamps that hold the relay in place. On the bottom of the relay are blades(part of the relay) for the connection. They fit into a LUGS that are crimped onto the wires that the relay connects to. To get a replacement lug you need to know the dimensions for the blade it connects to(Thickness and width, usually 4.8 x 0.8mm, just take the relay) and the diameter of the wire(cut a small piece off if you have enough slack). To replace you need a specialised crinping tool although a pair of pliers can also be used but then soldering is definately recommended. Your local electrical supplier should stock it and theyre like $5 for 100.
Hope it helps.
