Brake pads
I have used Wagner brake pads for several years and have good good luck with them...I think they are called the Thermo Quiets. i tried a house brand and they were noisy and created alot of brake dust.
My horn won't work.
It could be a number of reasons such as a wiring problem or the switch is bad where you press on the steering wheel to make it sound but the most likely cause I would think would be the horn relay, The horn relay is located in the engine compartment fuse panel. I have given you a picture of the fuse and relay layout and the horn relay is the one in the number 40 position. I hope this helps and good luck.
I have a 2003 GMC Envoy XL. I replaced the battery
When you disconnected the battery, the PCM (power control module) was reset to factory default. You can try driving it with several engine on/engine off cycles. Get it up to 50 mph each time so the computer can recognize the transmission operation also. Hope this helps.
The low beam head lights will not come on, changed
Switch RELAY # 45 with #46, do you now have low beams? If so, replace the relay OR clean it by pushing it in and taking it out several time, which worked for me. BUT I keep a spare relay juuuust in case. Very common problem with Envoys and Trailblazers.
How to service air bag
DEALER ONLY_ DON"T MESS WITH IT- they use the same type of EXPLOSIVE as a TEN GAUGE POlICE Shotgun- if done wrong can kill you!
I turn the ignition on,
I would guess that the alternator has failed and is not charging the battery properly either that or the battery itself is bad and wont take a charge, the best way to check is to take the battery into a local parts store most times they have a machine they can hook it up to and check to see if it is good or not.
Today I picked up my 2003 GMC Envoy from a Auto
You don't have a lot to go on-it is their word against yours they did something to cause this...first thing to do is get the vehicle to a good diagnostic mechanic who can determine why 2 cylinders have no compression, although the usual cause for this is a blown head gasket (they should be next to each other and they usually have SOME compression)-So NO COMPRESSION??? they don't know what they are doing (with engines) it sounds like-I don't know what 'body work' they did, but if they were welding and did not disconnect the battery, they might have fired the ECU-that would not explain no compression, but it would explain a dead miss in 2 cylinders, possibility. Get it somewhere where they know what they are doing, take it from there.
2003 gmc envoy won't start and cannot remove key
Ignition switch needs to be replaced, common problem.
To get your key out: look under the key on the column cover. You'll either see a hole there or an outline where a hole was supposed to be. If the hole is there, push in the solenoid to release your key. If the hole isn't there, carefully cut or drill the plastic out there, and push the solenoid there. I believe they quit putting the hole there in 03', BUT like mine, you'll see a faint outline in the plastic of a hole. -->

My GMC 2003 Envoy failed smog test because of "the
The person running the test is an idiot. The OBDII test instrument is not capable of determining if there is a warning lamp failure. It is probably guessing based on voltage level, but lamp resistance does normally vary. The test is supposed to be done visually. Take it to someone else, and they will probably be more competent and pass your car.
