Ac system diagram
Yes But check out J.C. Whitney for aftermarket kits or some suppliers for kits for antique vehicles. The add-on kits would hang under the dash as an independent unit. With the stock set-up you have to have freon lines inside the dash ductwork. Then a change of function switches for the dash. When you use the A/C, you need an idle stepup Solenoid which increases the idle so you do not stall. An aftermarket upgrade probably has this part included in the kit.You will need the mounting brackets for the A/C compressor, but you could do well in a Salvage yard getting all the brackets with the used compressor. Remember that the crank pulley may need a wider pulley for the extra belt on the A/C. The kit should have it.I hope my solution is helpful.
I was driving and panel started smoking
A lot of time's when vehicles get older dust collect's and wires touch inside of the instrument panel I would pull it out and look inside to see and clean it out with compressed airJohnny
1989 gmc 2500 305 engine back fire's on
Backfire on acceleration could be caused by a worn lobe on the camshaft especially on a small block Chevy engine. You have to remove the valve covers and check the lift of each push rod. Sometimes it's quite obvious but sometimes it requires close inspection and even measuring the lift.
BACK BRAKES CONTINUE TO OVER
The last time this happened when I was on the Meineke Tech Line a technician put the left side self adjusters on the right side and the right side self adjusters on the left side.
Where is the exact location of the hazard light
Are you sure the right side bulbs all flash? You say you replaced all the bulbs? Why would you replace bulbs that were working? Did you have this problem before you replaced the bulbs, or after. The hazard flasher is down under the dash, left side, turn the signals on and follow the clicking noise. The hazard flasher and the turn signal flasher should be near each other, and are interchangeable. If it clicks fast, a bulb or a bad socket is usually the cause. These trucks have a lot of problems with the tail light circuit boards.
On a 1989 GMC 2500 pickup. Put fuel system
Possibly has water in the fuel. Pick up a bottle of heet water remover from your parts house and see if this helps. Also make sure you are getting enough fuel to the engine. Find the serator valve on the fuel rail going to the throttle body. Push in the the valve and see if it sprays fuel or just trickles it out. If you have a fuel pressure tester make sure you are getting around 40-50 psi at the valve. If you are not then the fuel pump is going out.
Blinkers not working
often when the turn indicator does not blink it is a burnt out bulb. be that as it may the turn signal relay is under the dash on the drivers side... either located in the fuse box or as a standalone relay.
