Usually a bad ring or seal inside your engine allowing oil to get into the combustion chamber where the tip of the spark plug is located. Do you notice any smoke coming from the exhaust pipe ?? Do you seem to be adding oil more often ?? If so, the black oily stuff is "engine oil".

It is possible but you may find the cost to be more than replacing the transmission. The cost could be more because of the labor involved to disassemble the transmission to replace the gearing.

it will make a load "clunk" and not turn engine , to test if it is solenoid hit it sharply with a copper or rawhide hammer , this usually release's the stuck bendix spring although not a cure it may get you started and will determine if you need new starter

first you need to check your spark plugs cables ( change them as well as your plugs) if this doesnt solve the problem the your throt-body is a problem, try to diconnect it and see( this only applies to fuel injection motor car)

Your cooling fan switch is probably to blame. It is located on your radiator. It switches on the fan when the coolant becomes hot. It is about an inch in diameter and is threaded into the radiator. There is a wiring harness coming off of it. You can jump the wires in the harness and they should start your fan. If the fan turns on from jumping between the contacts on the harness, not the the contacts on the sensor, then you need a new sensor.

So you have swapped motors? Did you also swap the ECU's? If not then the fuel maps will be different and cause these kind of problems. Make sure the ECU matches the motor and transmission type, MT or AT.
