2000 Grand AM GT has issues but wont throw codes

It sounds like you need a scan tool that will access all of the modules in your car. The traction and ABS codes will be stored in the ABS control module. As far as the miss, it should be in the ECU and accessible from any general scan tool.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am and the interior stay on

Interior Lights Circuit Description By using a feature called inadvertent power control, the body control module (BCM) supplies power to all of the following components: • The courtesy lamps • The dome lamps • The rear view mirror reading lamps • The instrument panel compartment lamp • The rear compartment lamp The left front door ajar switch turns the interior lamps on through the BCM by grounding CKT 394. When the left front door is open, the switch is closed. This condition provides a ground and a door open input to the BCM. The BCM then grounds the following lamps through CKT 156 in order to turn the lamps on: • The courtesy lamps • The dome lamp • The rearview mirror lamps The right front door ajar switch and the rear door ajar switches turn the interior lamps on by grounding CKT 395 from the BCM. When the ignition key is removed from the lock cylinder, the interior lamps remain on for approximately 40 seconds. The BCM provides an interior lamps-on delay after a door is opened. The lamps remain on for approximately 40 seconds or until the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. The 40 second lamps-on delay reduces to 4 seconds if a door is opened within 2 minutes of the ignition switch being moved from the ON position. The interior lamps immediately turn off when the vehicle begins to move. The dome lamp OFF-DOOR-ON switch controls the dome lamp. When the switch is in the OFF position, the dome lamp remains off. When the switch is in the DOOR position, the dome lamp lights when a door is opened by the BCM grounding CKT 156. When the switch is in the ON position, ground is supplied through CKT 750. The rear view mirror reading lamps are controlled by the rear view mirror reading lamps switch or through CKT 156 from the BCM. Voltage is supplied at all times to the BCM through the INT LPS fuse. The BCM supplies voltage to the interior lamps through CKT 1732. Battery Run Down Protection When the ignition switch is in the OFF position, the BCM turns off the power to all of the interior lamps after 18-22 minutes. The BCM will reset the inadvertent power control relay output when one of the following actions is performed: • Open or close a door. • Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. • Turn off any interior lamps that may be on. • Press the power door lock switch/keyfob button. • Press the decklid release keyfob button. Courtesy or Dome Lamps Always On Step Action Yes No 1 Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check? YES - Go to Step 2 NO - Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems 2 Use the Scan Tool in order to command the courtesy lamps OFF. Do the courtesy lamps turn OFF? Service engine, abs, trac off

The service engine light does not affect the abs.You most likely have a broken wire in your abs system which is affected by suspension movement.A code reader which does abs codes will tell you which wheel circuit is turning on the abs light. When there is no abs available the track will turn off.

Heat/defroster doesn't work. blower does.

As far as heat, does the engine reach normal operating temp? Do the heater hoses get hot? Can you check circulation through the heater core? Check the actuator doors under the dash, see if properly operating?

I have a 2000 pontiac grand am gt it will not start i replaced the fuel pump fuel filter an repaired a short in the dash an some of my gagues arent working

How do you know that no fuel is getting to the engine ? Did you check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge ? Did you check for spark at a plug wire ? What short did you have in the dash ? There are videos on youtube on trouble shooting a no start condition .Your instrument cluster is probably bad . You can get a new used one at the nearest auto salvage yard for $20.00 Also if security light is lit on the instrument cluster the vehicle won't start . The anti-theft system on these will disable fuel injectors .

Car turns over but will not start

Check and make sure that the engine is getting fuel, spark and has compression........ Check all fuses.......... If there is no fuel coming from injectors but there is a injector signal, fuel pump or fuel pump electrical circuit could be bad. If the fuel pump in the tank is starting to go bad, some times but not all the time, if you get a rubber mallet and have someone crank the car as you bang on the gas tank with the rubber mallet, the engine should start. This is only a temp. fix. Depending on what vehicle you have, a faulty fuel pump can be accessed from under rear seat, trunk or the tank has to be physically removed from the vehicle in order to service the fuel pump. If the engine has no spark, again, check all fuses.......... Most of the time for a no spark issue, a crank sensor goes bad or the ohm values are out of specs. To ensure that you have a faulty crank sensor, you can either rent or buy a fairly inexpensive scan tool to check for trouble codes and possibly look at live data the the RPM signal. If you crank the engine and the scan tool does not pick up an RPM signal, more than likely, you have a bad crank angle sensor. If the engine has no compression, if the engine has a timing belt....... check and make sure that the belt has not broke, skip a couple of teeth due to bad tensioner or teeth stripped out at the crank due to oil contamination. If your engine has a timing chain, check to see if chain is stretched, broken or skipped couple of teeth due to bad hydraulic tensioner. Hope this helps..........
