1996 yukon turns over but does not start.I dont

Seems like you have already diagnosed your problem. Sounds like a bad fuel pump. But you can check the pump if you have some one to turn the key on while you care near the gas tank. You should hear it. If not Id say its probably bad.

1996 GMC Yukon will not start after hearing intermittent clicking noise while running

Sounds like you lost the serpentine belt, which runs the alternator. When you heard the ticking sound, did you notice if the battery light came on, Check the belt and fully charge the battery. Do not jump a dead battery. Wear safety glasses when servicing a battery, an explosion and acid hazard exist

I have a high idle rpm

A few things to check would be the coolant temp sender, TPS sensor and last but not least check for a vacuum leak. These are just a couple things off the top of my head.

Why won't it start?

So do you know for a fact you don't have spark when it fails to start ? ? And do you know for sure that the injector has power and a ground signal ? Will it try to start if you spray cleaner into the throttle body even with normal fuel pressure ? Since you have a distributor, you have an ign control module, but you also have a pickup coil which may be in the bottom of the dist. Could be a problem with one of the connectors too.

I changed map sensor on my 1996 gmc Yukon with a 5.7 liter votec cleared codes it stared up but it died it wanted to run no luck but no codes what can it be

Possible fuel pump. Look under the truck and locate the fuel tank. Have an assistant turn the key to the on position(2nd position) and listen to see if your fuel pump gives a him sound for about 2 seconds. If not, bang on the tank with the palm of your hand a few times and try it again. If you hear it, tell your assistant to try and start it. If it cranks, your fuel pump will need replacing.

Why could my 1996 yukon running rich

First. Get your truck to a parts store that will run the OBD check. That will tell you alot. Next, check the air filter...if not, check the air horn on the throttle body for carbon buildup. Remove the air duct, spray a clean cotton rag with solvent and wipe thr carbon out of the air horn.

How to replace a power steering gear box

Have the tires straight, lock or secure the steering wheel so it doesn't move. Remove the hoses and steering linkage from the box. Raise the front and remove the drivers tire. Remove the linkage from the pitman arm at the bottom of the box. Use a large hammer to break the linkage free from the arm, don't hit the threads. You will see 3 or 4 large bolts going threw the frame, remove them to drop the box. You will need a pitman arm removal tool to get the arm off the box. You can rent them from the parts store. New boxes come centered, so install the box first, then put the pitman arm on, matching it to the linkage.

In some instance you can adjust the play in the steering box, there is a external bolt with a locking nut on it, I think wind it in a little at a time and check the steering when you do, don't adjust to far as then you won't be able to steer it properly, hope this helps

Loud noise when 4 high button is pressed while driving in 2 high

engaging 4wd at speed is not recommended as the syncro set up is for low speed operation only Using 4wd on hard surfaces especially with your tyres does not allow the wheels to slip and so you get torque wind up in the transmission. This prevents the gears from disengaging as there is excessive load on the teeth. To unload the wind up either drive on a grass/ gravel/ slippery surface or stop and allow the vehicle to run backwards. IT all amounts to driving technique and knowing when and where to engage 4wd. There are plenty of books /magazines that explain the damage that will be done to the vehicle running gear if run in 4wd for long periods on hard surface roads.
