Daytime running lights not working
On the inside of the car next to the light switch there is your dome button. GM made it to where you could turn off the daytime running lights by pushing it three times in and out. Turn the vehicle on then do this. Your daytime running lights should work after this.

Compressor is close to the shocks - Start with electrics - Find wiring and check for voltage at the compressor - compressor is small like the little ones you buy for tire pumping - like small -
Jumper a temporary wire from battery to compressor does that work? If not just replace the compressor. I've replaced mine twice for corrosion issues.
If pump works, look for leaks or leaking shock. You can use a tire pump to check shocks leaking.

When you turn the key to start does the starter engage an spin the engine ? This would be a crank no start condition . If the starter doesn't engage an spin the engine this would be a no crank no start condition . Sorry to ask but i have only been an auto tech for thirty years an have heard a lot of different discriptions for these simple actions . crank no start or no crank no start . Very different diagnostic procedures . So when you turn the key to start , does the starter engage an spin the engine ,but won't start an run ?

Most GM products have the o-tube located inside the evap metal line where the high side hose connects. Evacuate the freon, then disconnect the high side line. Look in the metal line coming out of the evaporator and there it is. These can require that you carefully screw a screw into the plastic part then use vise grips to remove. Usually, these are replaced along with the filter/dryer when recharging the system.
Oil is held on TOP of engine. (L) valve cover
This sounds like a case of clogged oil galleys. These are the passageways that allow the top end of the engine to pass the oil back to the oil pan/crankcase. Though it's an unusual case, this is sometimes caused by excessive engine sludge, gasket media or other foreign deposits lodged in the galleys, etc. If you're able to let the engine sit long enough to try and allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan, remove the valve cover, and look in and around the oil galleys for any deposits or foreign material. They are generally located on the outer skirts of the head. The only time I've ever seen a case like this was from a valve cover gasket that was replaced while leaving the old one inside the rocker panel (head.) Of course, you'll most likely want to replace the valve cover gasket again after this test. Also check to make sure the PCV valve isn't completely clogged either, while you're at it. It's of course a simple, cheap, and much-needed part of a vehicle's maintenance.

Yes you do have to take it to the dealer, This is a common problem in these trucks. This is caused by a bad encoder sensor in the shifter on the side of the transfer case. The sensor can be replaced with out having to replace the shifter assembly.
THe best test is to get the code from the system. This sensor is a sliding resistor and the material wears off causing a false reading. That is why the lights were showing Nothing, but you were able to drive. The code for the sensor is C0327.

The noise condition if not noticed by the customer may cause eventual encoder sensor wear causing DTC C0327 set in the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM).
An updated TCCM calibration has been released to apply light pressure to the transfer case clutch pack and reduce the rattle. The calibration was released on 3/18/07 and the title line will read "to correct transfer case rattle at highway speeds and possible DTC C0327". For Rattle only (no current DTC C0327 set), Install the updated calibration and if necessary follow the diagnostics listed below
If the vehicle has a current or history dtc C0327 and can be diagnosed to the encoder sensor, re-flash with the updated calibrations and replace the encoder sensor as necessary.
Important Note: All NV246 transfer cases built 02/25/06 and beyond are manufactured with pressed fit parts to help reduce the rattle. Inspect the ID tag on the transfer case for this build date and verify the tccm has the latest calibration before repairs are initiated.
