You'll have to check to see if the compressor clutch engages when you turn the A/C on. You'll hear a click and the center of the compressor will begin to turn. If it does the system has Freon in it but may be low. If the compressor does not engage the system may be out of Freon or have an electrical problem.
2000 Durango,No code thats okay we have the symptom that all we need. Stall when hot.So it stall at idle or if you decelerate then it also stalls.and it start right up. The 2000 Durango is equipt with a ISC (idle speed control motor) and this is mounted on the throttle body. This maintains a target idle speed. The ISC also uses a desired MAP for deceleration.Your solution is a throttle body cleaning,or a ISC (idle speed control) motor. This is the only thing that can cause what is described
Check the ASD relay , do you hear the fuel pump run ? The ASD relay supply's power to fuel pump , ignition system , O2 sensor heater circuits . Does your Durango have coil on plug ignition system ?
Usually the problem is a bad regulator.
This is a metal & plastic part that is made really cheaply.
If you choose to do it yourself, you may find it a really hard job.
Also, watch for razor sharp edges in the door frame, that can slice your hand & fingers up.
God bless your efforts.

Dodge Dakota Coolant Leak Repair - Including Bypass Hose, ....yup my 2000Dakota had I leaking bypass I put in New water pump thinking ..... Dodge Durango 4.7 coolant, thermostat, and auxiliary water pump replacement.
This NO BUS means your PCM aka main computer is not communicating with your instrument cluster. It could be bad, but first make sure your gauges work, then try removing cables from battery for 30 mins and reconnecting. If that doesn't work, it may need a new computer PCM.
If all you did was replace bands, you left out a lot of seals and clutches that probably needed to be replaced. It could also be an electrical problem. Check the fuse(EATX) and make sure you have power and ground at the transmission plug.
White smoke is usually indicative of a blown head gasket. Usually if you have blue smoke it's oil......If you have white smoke and possibly a "sweet" smell to it, that's normally coolant.
If it's coming out of your vents then I'd say you need new gaskets now. What's happened is the gasket blew out so bad that the smoke made it's way through the vent system, it's also coming from under your hood I bet giving my past experience with this.
Definitely new head gaskets to fix this though.

The 4.7 engine differed greatly from the 5.2 and 5.9 engines Dodge made at that time.
The other two engines have only 1 ignition coil where as the 4.7 has a total of 8. With one being on each spark plug.
This is a link from Rock Auto for ignition coils....
