Hello and welcome to fixya... Dilyn,
Nature sides with the hidden flaw...
More likely your REPLACEMENT starter was
already
fractured (they are pretty stout/strong)...
((
TAKE it BACK)).
If the VEHICLE has been sitting (is seized) ... PROPER
treatment would be to put a shot of PENETRATING OIL
into each cylinder... and allow to sit...
Radiator Specialty Co L104 Liquid Wrench Amazon com
(repeat as necessary: CONSULT on that)...
Only move by hand...!!
ELSE:
Assuming this is an OTHERWISE
untroubled
vehicle (regularly used):
FIRST thing I would look for... is the real reason
the engine is not moving...
LIKE... mark all your wires... (cylinder number)
and
remove the
spark plugs... MOVE the engine
by hand. If so... RESTORE THE STARTER...
(no reason to OVER-TIGHTEN (excessive torque)).
WHILE you are THERE...
COMPRESSION TEST...
Check the oil & water for cross contamination...
If everything comes up roses... Put it all back together
Give it another try... Hope this helps.
