I have a 2000 beetle tdi it started whining when

I'm shooting in the dark but that's what it sounds like----I think with all the pollution factory issues this should be covered by the MFG. Another is blown head gasket but that would show coolant in oil or vise versa. GL

This is a 4cyl diesel Beetle. The timing belt

my books show it as a interference engine in which case valve damage is most likely to occur however if that was the case , it would be having a miss from the start and would not run 2 weeks before something happened if a valve spring breaks there could be valve piston contact but it is doubtful if that would destroy the engine but again breaking valve springs is rather rare on diesel engines the engine would not just quit but would rattle and bang it's head off then develope a big noisy miss from a hole in the piston so I suspect a timing belt problem from when they removed/replaced the head after the glo-plug fix or a crank/cam shaft position sensor or wires ( possible faulty connections for the cam shaft) I would suggest finding an accredited service center for a proper diagnosis and quote for engine repairs

My beetle just engine just went off while driving

Make sure the battery terminals are secure. Other than that I would guess there is an electrcal fault on the vehicle. I am not familiar with the beetle but think if I were driving your vehicle I would make sure all electrical connections were as they should be.

Rear shock replacment

Jack up rear of car, support it with a jack stands, Remove wheel, and then jack up axle to relieve tension on shock/spring. Remove lower shock bolt, then the upper bolts. Remove assembly. The hard part is to remove the upper mount from the shock rod. Couple of tricks are offset box end wrench on the nut and a small cresent wrench on the flats of the rod. Or, use a cheap socket with flats ground on the sides and slide it over the rod and use 2 cresent wrenches ,one on the socket ground down flats and the other on the rod. Reverse directions for install

Vw code p0322

If the only code you get is P0322, then it is most likely the crankshaft position sensor. Prior to this code, I received the P0321. Crankshaft position sensor only cost me $15 at ebay while $170 at your local autopart stores. My problem was that my car would crank for 4 seconds then start up. Once it starts, there is a loud air suction sound. Kind of like a quiet vacuum, as if the engine is trying to get as much oxygen as it can. This was only happening in the morning, but won't happen again throughout the day. You can call it a sign that it is going to get worst. My car has over 200k miles and this is the first time it happened. I've went ahead and replaced it considering the age of the car and the sensor looked beat. It has been 2 months so far after replacing, and no problem yet. Goodluck with yours and hoped my bad experience helped you out.

VW beetle 2003 won't start. nothing not a click

Check to make sure the master fuse hasn't blown. It's rather large and should be located next to the fuse box. Also, make sure you don't have a broken battery cable. With an ohm meter, check both the positive and negative cables. You should only see a few ohms of resistance. If you see a really high number or it indicates that it is open, replace the cable. I hope this helps! :)
