Warning light description:Yellow explanation mark enclosed in a triangle with an arrow circling around the triangle.
I'm trying to find out what this warning light means?
Thanks!
that is your traction control. Either you pressed the traction control button it say ASR OR ESP on your console in the center next to the hazard switch.

My 2001 new Beetle will not stay running. It starts up, then 5-8 seconds later will sputter out and die. If I pump the gas peddle a bit after it starts, it trys to stay running longer but then sputters out and dies again. I replaced the fuel filter, made sure the car has plenty of gas, but same thing keeps happening. It acts as though its starving for fuel? Please help me troubleshoot this, I cannot afford to take this in. Maybe I should have never bought it based on all the problems I'm reading on these cars. My wife just had to have it.
Hi There,
Try this: You will need 2 people - Have someone Spray Starting Fluid in the throttle then start the car and have someone spray the fluid continuously into the throttle. If the car continues to run you have a fuel problem, but if it stalls out, replace the coil pak. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

2001 VW Beetle. The driver's front seat adjuster won't catch, so the seat slides forward and back.
I'm assuming you have manual adjustment seats. There is a spring underneath the seat that locks the end of the lever into corresponding notches in the seat frame rail. That spring has either fallen off or broken.

which is the fuse number for electric windows and sunroof??
The power roof is Fuse #30. The power windows are probably controlled by a fuse located in the small fuse panel located on top of the battery. The car's electrical system is controlled by a 110 amp fuse and circuit breaker.

VW BEETLE , ASR LIGHT IS ON , AT SAME TIME THERE SEEMS TO BE A GROANING WHEEL BEARING NOISE AT LOW SPEED , COULD THIS BE CONNECTED ? WHAT IS ASR??
First of all replace bad wheel bearing !!! This bad wheel bearing causes ASR light ON.
ASR - Acceleration Skid Control system.
When ASR warning light blinking the system is activated itself for car acceleration skid control.
For today's typical high-torque engines, traction control (ASR) can increase both comfort and safety, particularly when driving on slippery roads or surfaces offering differing levels of grip. Traction control permits smooth starting and acceleration through the full speed range without wheel-spin or fishtailing.
ASR only operates in conjunction with the electronic accelerator (E-gas) and uses components of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). If one wheel suddenly begins to rotate faster than the others (slip), ASR intervenes in the engine management system and reduces power until the wheel stops spinning.
The ASR system represents a further contribution to active safety as it maintains vehicle traction and directional stability throughout the acceleration phase at any speed. In addition, it reduces tyre wear. Activation of the ASR system is indicated by a flashing indicator lamp in the instrument cluster.
The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP system is faulty. You must access the ESP Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP ECU, in other words reset the ESP system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.

my beetle 2001 radiator fan no working and aircond also come out without cool air, engin overheating problem. i send to workshop and check wiring and fuse all in good condition. please give advise what problem is that. thanks
Because there is no supply to the fan , it is not working. So you need to check the fan with a direct link to test , is working check the RELAY box for the fan relay, next check on the thermistor, the control circuit of the temperature controller to trigger the fan relay. Also check on the fuse to the relay unit.
The AC cooling must be checked only after this circuit is working as a hot engine will not give a good result. cehck the gas pressure, check the pumping pressure to confirm the compressor.
Also the eveporator, condenser, pressure switch must be checked independantly.
