Setting idle speed on a 2001 vw beetle 2.0-

The engine doesn't have a mechanical idle speed adjustment - VW/Audi have a software called VagCom (the diagnostic software they use) that is used to adjust the idle - it's completely computer-controlled. You have to change the idle speed using the software.

2001 Beetle GLS 2.0 Overheating- Two weeks ago the

It is possible that the pump failed because of an overheating problem. Make sure the fans run by turning on the air conditioning. They should operate as soon as it is turned on. Bad fans are a common problem. The pump should not have been leaking after replacement though. Make sure you have no leaks first and foremost. Then make sure the fans work. There is also a fan control module located in the area under the battery, but it is difficult to properly diagnose. If the fans do not turn on with the a/c, you can jump the wires at the thermo switch. One should be power, and when you jump to one wire they should go to low speed, the other high.

How do I reset the ABS system in 2001 beetle

one simple thing to check first is the ABS connector is easily knocked loose in the battery box.Lift up the upper lid on the box, it is a big oval connector with heavy gauge red wires, push it in until you hear it click hopefully! it'll at least eliminate that.

OBDII codes

The other codes are related to the transmission control system. O would focus on getting the car started. I will guess you are getting no sparks. This could all be caused by a bad crankshaft position sensor.

I have a 2001 VW Beetle. I started the car and the engine light was blinking and coolant container was empty, added coolant and the next evening the light came on again. I noticed a leak on the front

look for a leak from the drain hole under the pump housing, if no leak not a water pump take the car to a radiator specialist shop and have a coolant pressure test done to determine where the leak is if it has plastic tanks for the radiator , they split with time and leak under pressure and a pressure test will reveal exactly where the leak is unlike a guess

2001 beetle passenger door wont lock

You may want to check your wiring harness to that door. The harness runs along the door frame, by door hinge area and it's inside a rubber boot. Most common problem is that a few wires break due to heat and age. If wiring is broken, repair wires if possible. If not possible to repair, recommend you replace the complete harness. If you are mechanically inclined, you will need to remove the inner door panel to access the harness. Once you have the harness removed, there is a label that identifies the part number for this harness. Good luck and hope this resolves your problem.
