Which relay are you talking about? I can't post wiring diagrams here because of copy-wright issues. autozone.com has free wiring diagrams. Hopefully they will have the one you need. Go to the site, register your vehicle, it's free. Click on "vehicle repair guides", follow the links, there should be wiring diagrams for your vehicle.

1999 Volkswagen Passat 1.9 Tdi are of two types. Two piece injection pump sprocket type and single piece injection sprocket type. First diagram is of two piece sprocket and the other one is single piece sprocket type. Tightening torque for the important nuts and bolts are also shown in the diagram. might be the injectors or hydrolic lifters. mean some cylinders are not built enough compression due to valve clearance. So check compression

Do you have a Check Engine Light on ? If so have the codes read.. If you have an AEB Engine, Check the Ignition Control Module.. (Small square looking thing, with 2 connectors on it sits on top of the air box) They are a common problem ...

This is where it would be nice to plug it into a code reader, but lets go over some probabilities. Did you check to see if the immobiliser is active ? Fuse 28 (fuel) and 29 (ignition) are fed by the same ECU output. Check them. Fuel pump relay is #208 .Check. Also, the Passat has a strange quirk, where it has 2 temp sensors. The ECU checks both and if there is a discrepancy, it wont start. Start with this and good luck.

Their is no regulator problem here. The motor is fine.

What broke was a piece of plastic the locks the cable on the track.

Pretty much screwed. VW or an auto glass company wont help.

I have replaced all of my Passats window mechanisms.
I have even remade the piece that broke and saved my self $100.

All in all the panel is removed, THen the inner plates 12 bolts are removed. The window has to be taken out....

how many miles on the car? check you cat converter ,it is probably bad,exhaust shop can check it for free

it needs a good service and checking the air and vacuum hoses for cracks etc , what do you expect after two years left to rot

CHECK CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER.SOUND LIKE BRAKE FLUID LOW.IF BRAKE FLUID LOW LOOK FOR LEAKS AROUND CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AND CHECK FOR LEAKS AROUND BRAKE LINES AND CHECK FOR LEAKS AROUND CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER HYDRALIC LINE FITTING. REASON PEDAL GOING TO FLOOR YOU HAVE FLUID LEAK WHICH WILL CAUSE AIR TO GET IN THE CLUTCH HYDRALIC SYSTEM. YOU HAVE TO LOCATE LEAK FIX AND BLEED THE CLUTCH HYDRALIC SYSTEM.

NEED TO REMOVE UNDER DASH COVER PASENSGER SIDE AND GLOVE BOX

Best bet is to plug it into a code reader to see what the computer believes the problem to be. Only takes a few seconds and should be next to nothing in cost. Best guess is that the front O2 sensor in your air intake needs replacement. Other possibilities are clogged fuel filter or even worn out spark plugs. Need that code number to pin it down accurately.

Sorry do not attempt to do any of this work yourself ,its dangerous to play around with airbags even with the battery disconnected --static -- a crash helmet must be worn and the battery diosconnected and the car ground out to a authorised grounding point .Sorry to disillusion you but this is dangerous work even for a so called professional

Hi this could be. Disconnect it and drive it. if it behaves then this should confirm the Air mass meter is faulty.

un plug battery find starter un plug the plug for the starter there should two or three nut or bolts hold starter when losing . and bobs ur uncle replace with new starter ;
