Airconditioner cooling not workign despite three

I would check the system pressure. You can buy a leak detector. I would check all the fittings on the lines, around the compressor, condenser, and evaporator.

Where is the transmission dipstick on a volkswagon

Unfortunately, there is not a transmission fluid dipstick on these cars. The designed to be "sealed for life". The only way to measure fluid level is to drain, measure, and refill to recommended volume using approved fluids.

1998 VW Passat it seems the idle is to low how do

Idle is automatically set&monitored with a timing sensor on the camshaft, i found my engine(1.8 20v turbo) would idle low then go high and almost stall sometimes and all i did was remove the fat black pipe on the throttle and clean inside the throat with a cotton rag dabbed in wd40.Hold the throttle open manually and clean on and around the throttle plate as the oil burnt&recycled creates a hard carbon that stops the throttle working correctly. When did you last change the sparkplugs, air filter, oil and oil filter and remove damp from the spark plug area using wd40 on surfaces applied with a cotton rag. These contribute all to your problem. As you dont state milage etc it could be a worn engine or slipped cambelt(1-2 teeth can make a slight diffirence).

My power locks have stoped working when i push the

The wiring on the passenger footwell corrodes(as its american model it may be on the opposite side). The water leaks in from the pollen filter and the wiring loom on the floor corrodes as there are 6 factory joins covered in nothing but cheap cloth.Your doors workswith the red wires, 2 joined into 4 joined and they snap from the rot.Just clean them with sandpaper after stripping the tops and solder them using a short lenght of 2 core electrical cable(they are short from the factory and will break again if you just solder them) and insulate with electrical tape and once you have done all six connections insulate the loom from one end to the other. This got my doors&petrol(gas) flap opening and thumping away and made me a happy man again. As the wires are posotive(and others negative) use a cloth or towel laid down to prevent short circuts with the bodywork etc or dissconnect the battery if you have radio codes etc. This affects the 1997 to present range of passats.

Rear door on offside only will not open from

chances are the connecting rod has come UN-done there is a plastic clip that holds the rods in place removal of the door panel is required to ensure this ...i take it the handle is just flopping around Loosely"

unless i am misreading the question perhaps the lock is froze up and i would use some penetrating oil 1st to allow it to work a while and see if that helps otherwise removal of the door panel is required as well

could also try pushing in on the door itself while trying to open it that would indicate the striker is in need of adjustment = door is closing too tightly

Where is the transmission oil marker

automatic or standard transmition? There is no dipstick for the automatic transmition they are considered dealer sevicable only. However there is a plug on the bottom of the trany that you take out and no fluid should come out unless there is too much in it (which is kinda imposible seen is this is where you fill it)After removing the correct plug you need to get fluid up the tube inside and over the edge to fill the trany. The correct amount is when you fill it and it starts comming out you need to stop puttting fluid in and let it level off and stop dripping. Then you have the correct level and put the plug back.

WHERE IS THE FILLER PLUG ON THE GEARBOX ON A 1998

Hi,

Just checking.... it is a manual gearbox?

You may need a special tool for the drain plug and a 17mm allen key for the filler (some use the special drain tool for the filler as well)

The drain plug is located under the diff housing.

The filler plug is located on the left (nearside) off the gearbox (look to the left of the hole and you can see the 17mm hex filler bung).

Check you can undo the filler bung, then drain the gearbox oil.

Refit drain bung and fill gearbox through filler/level ********* until gearbox oil is up to the level of the filler bung.

Refit, test drive, check for leaks and retest level again when cold.

Cheers,

"If this has helped you in any way, please rate this solution" :-)
