94 VW golf 1.8 auto

Start by checking the wiring to the VSS (sensor) . Plug has 3 wires. One of the outside wires should have 12 volts when ignition on. Other outside wire should have an earth of no more than 5 ohms impedance. Centre wire should give an earth pulse when gearbox is turning. If live and earth are good, but no pulse, then sensor or its drive gear is broken. Problem is usually sensor suffering ppor earth connection. Ok to cut earth wire before sensor and atach to sutable earth point.

94 golf 1.8l the wiper

Check the fuses for the pump and wipers. Also you can check the relay responsible for the wipers (number 19).
The fuses and relays are below (all the way down) the lights switch.

Hi i replaced the water

Hi.

If you did not bleed the coolant lines it can be air pocket in the water lines or in the radiator, more commonly the problem is either thermostat or blockage thermostat housing.

Ensure that the water can flow through the radiator and double check water pump and thermostat. As far as I can remember Golf Mk3 and 4 thermostat housing is located in the radiator lower hose, and it is easy to jump. With thermostat jumped fan will run all the time, and radiator will take more to get hot. Wait ten or fifteen minutes and see if lower part of radiator gets hot (I know, you replaced thermo already, but better spending 15 mins on this test, just in case).
Check also thermostat housing. That is a common place for obstructions.

If you do not find anything else bleed coolant. Bleed the radiator and do a complete flush.

I have the service manual for this model, but the manual is in French.

Volkswagen golf GTI 1994 2L wont turn over,

Hi, the likely problem is your safety interlock. If you have a manual transmission, the interlock is above the clutch pedal. If you have automatic trans, the interlock may be on the shifter or the transmission. Let me know if you can't find it.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Sunroof and some dashboard lights are not working

I would check the fuses. The fusebox is to the left of the steering column, under the dash. There should be a black plastic cover door to open to gain excess to the fusebox.

What car is best? a wolksvagen golf gti box 3

Hi.

The two cars are completely different.

One is front drive traction(VW), the other one is rear(BMW).

Sport performances are better int the BMW.

Safety standards are good in both cars.

On the other hand the BMW is quite more expensive to maintain (parts are more expensive, a bit more attention and service required, higher fuel consumption(13-14l/100km).

If the two cars are in the same shape, price and milege is similar I would buy the BMW. I suggest driving both cars before purchase if possible, driving style is much different.
