could be a bad or weak fuel pump. when engine starts lower pressure will allow the engine to start and run until you try to accelerate then the fuel pump pressure demand goes up, but if not sufficient pressure available will not accelerate

its definitely not the starter, once you start your vehicle the starter is not part of the running of your car. could be a weak fuel pump, could be a bad fusible link/ connection,loss of ignition
