Issues shifting
Sounds like the clutches are slipping among other things.I would get two estimates before making any decisions on repairs.

1992 mazda mpv, 6 cyls. it occurs a year ago
Check your gas for possible water. Just in case try a can of SEAFOAM in your gas. It will take about 10 min of running to work. Also recheck the gap on the spark plugs it should be .044 gap. One other thing to check is the firing order and make sure the wires were put back in the right place to the right spark plug

Check engine light always on......why?
MY 1992 MPV 4wd "check engine" light came on when I hit 160,000 miles, as I was told it might...I was also informed I had to take it to a mechanic to have it turned off...there's nothing wrong, so I just deal with the light.

I have a 92 Mazda
Sometimes dirt clogs it up n leaves it stuck, try tapping lightly to get the dirt out. Locate d clip on the connetor, press it down and pull while holding d other side. Avoid pulling on d wires though.make sure its the connectors u re holding.

Fuel pump is working but
Just because the fuel pump is working doesn't mean it's supplying the correct pressure. You need to do a fuel pressure test to rule out the fuel pump. Change the fuel filter too if it is inline.

Have a 92 maxda MPV
on all four wheels their will be a sensor and 'sensing' plate. First step is to clean these all up with a parts cleaner, and try again. If one of the sensors cant pick up a signal from the plate, then this will cause a fault. If no luck, inspect the wiring to and from the sensors, for obvious damage/short circuits. Hopefully this would have sorted it, otherwise their could be a faulty abs sensor

1992 mazda mpv , auto trans has rear wheel drive,
Vans are typically a challenge to drive in the snow. Try some better tires, get some with some rude tread and a low treadwear rating (under 100 if possible). If you go to a bias-ply traction tire you'll lose a lot of that sideways slipping, but you'll also lose a lot of braking ability under all other conditions than snow so you'll have to keep a slower speed at all times, and they'll wear out fast.. but they still rule in the snow, I got 'em on my old truck right now.
And drive really carefully too.

My battery keeps dying on my 1992 Mazda MPV. It
The alternator is what charges the battery, most likely there is a bad connection at or to the battery, or the alternator has quit working and you will need to replace the alternator.
