Remove alternator

Hi Friend:

To remove your Alternator.

#1) First disconnect your negetive Battery Cable.

#2) Then you'll need to get a Breaker Bart or a Rachet and Socket,To take the Pressure off the Serpitine Belt by using the Ratchet and move your Belt Tensioner to remove your Alternator Belt.

#3) The tensitioner is and Alumium Part with a a Pulley on it ,thats keeps pressure on your belt.Move it both left and right until you see which way it loosens tension. Then While Tension is off your Alternator Just reach over and Pull belt Off.

#4) then un-plug and Disconect the Wiring going to your Alternator(NOTE) Mark your Wiring so you get it back on the way it comes off.

#5) Then you'll have 2-3 Bolts Holding Alternator in place ,Just Remove them And your Alternator will come Off.

#6) Take the Old Alternator to Parts Strore and Have them Test it,Just to Verify its Bad. And By taking it you'll save an extra Trip because they'll want your Old Alternator as a Core.

#7) Plus you can match the Old with The New to Make Sure They are Selling you the Right One,

I Hope this Helped you Please Let me Know by Voting on the help i've given you,Thank You for Using FixYa From: d_hubbs

Abs fault light comes on

If you start the vehicle and the ABS light never goes out it is failing its self check test. Typically a bad wheel speed sensor will cause this.

If the light comes on when you start it, goes out shortly after, but comes on after driving for a little bit than the problem may be a little bigger. Wheel speed sensors could still be the problem but you could also have issues with wheel bearings, exciter rings, solenoids, or modules.

The best thing to do is have the ABS module scanned for codes. This will narrow down the possibilities significantly. Post the codes here and we'll be more than happy to guide you to the next step. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa

About 3 weeks ago i was getting a code for the MAF

I'm going to go out on a limb and sugest that you look for melted wires in the engine compartment. That would explain the burning plastic smell. And a bare wire grounding on your engine could cause about 100 diferent problems.

Sometimes my truck will not start, have to turn

possibly the security system or transmission interlock. Try using other key and/or mess with the shifter while trying to start. If you have automatic, try starting in neutral. I have posted some tips here: http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5821173-doesnt_car_start_gasoline_engines

I replaced my brake rotors on a 2004 gmc canyon

IF you installed the wrong brake rotors, without the ABS reluctor ring[if equipped],the light will come on.Second possibility is you damaged the ABS wiring to the wheel speed sensor. There is a harness to each wheel.
