It could be many reasons. After it is started see if it will rev up to 5000 rpm and hold for 10 seconds. If it will not I would replace fuel filter. Check grounds. When it will not start pull plug and check if there is a spark by placing plug end near metal and have ignition wire connected to plug and crank engine 1-3 seconds. Should see spark. If sparks I believe gas is being inhibited.

engine is running too rich. probably a sensor. Check the Oxygen sensor, throttle position sensor and fuel injectors after that check fuel pump.

When you say new leads do you mean new wires? New ignition coils? Just remember misfire can be caused by more than one factor it happens for either gas, air spark itself. Since you have new spark plugs it could be either air or gas issue which can be caused by a dirty gas filter or a bad MAP sensor.

It wont. Brakes are only monitored by a sensors , there are three kinds. One for fluid level, 2 emergency brakes, 3 pads wear. And i doubt your 1994 ford has a pad wear sensor.

The ABS light will record a dtc, but not the brake warning light, which usually measures pressure differential front to back and fluid level.

sounds like a blown head gasket. A compression check would be helpful. Steam from the exhaust would be another indicator, as would odd foamy yellowish oil on your dip-stick.

Try looking screwed into the radiator.

Start with the Distributer cap and Rotor ( cracks & wear ), then under the rotor is a 3/4" circle shaped piece ( can't remember proper name ) with 2 wires which generates spark, then check coil pack, and finish with plug wires.

Check the fuel filter. It might not be a bad idea to do a tune up.

Problem solved! Clockspring was not the culprit. Four insulating plastic washers of particular shape for airbag brackets deteriorated - I should say crumbled. Consequently, airbag sagged and contacted the horn grounding point. It was a difficult problem to diagnose without prior experience. Since dealer doesn't sell the washers separately, I had to either fabricate them or purchase the entire steering assembly for $100. I took the first route. It took me a day.

Hyundai uses a special type of fluid in their power steering units! Make sure your getting the right stuff!

Have the misfire diagnosed and the backfiring will be fixed also. The backfiring is caused by the "over-rich" fuel mixture in the exhaust stream and is igniting within the exhaust. Fix the misfire (which will cause the rich condition) and the backfire will be gone.
