2002 Ford Escape. I bought it without a key. I had a locksmith cut a key but still won't crank.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to model category. 'won't crank' means it doesn't turn over, you turn the key and nothing happens. Normally these questions are 'it cranks but doesn't fire / start the engine. Jeff is our professional auto electrician, you need someone like him to connect a professional grade scan tool computer and find out WHY the key won't program. Being 'too old' is not an excuse! https://www.google.com/search?q=mobile+auto+electrician+near+me ..

2002 Ford Escape. Would taking the thermostat out of my 2002 ford escape make it leak?

As long as the gasket was put in the jointing services, it should not leak. You are better off replacing it. They are 20 bucks.

2002 Ford Escape slipped out of gear.

It needs connecting to a Scan Tool and checking for Diagnostic Trouble Codes. That will tell the mechanic what the issue is.

What causes left front squeak?

There are a few areas that can squeak a bit after being cleaned and usually a can of WD40 will cure the problem. It's important not to lubricate the braking system, it shouldn't be squeaking as a result of turning the steering wheel. The top of the struts, strut mounts, the tie rod ends and ball joints can all be lightly sprayed to stop the noise. Spray a few things and check again, repeat until it's smooth and quiet.

I have a 2002 ford escape i have replaced coils plugs injectors cat and have good compression am getting fire need to know what color the wires are for injector 6 still missfire

The easiest way to test if the wires to #6 are sending the signal to the injector is to get a noid light and plug it into the harness at the injector providing there is room to access the injector from the injector. Often times, the positive voltage feeds all the injectors, while the PCM applies ground to each individual injector. You will need to test continuity from the #6 injector to the PCM with an Ohm test providing you have 12 volts at the injector. The ground opens and shuts once with each intake cycle to provide a fuel charge, so it will blink rapidly. That is normal. If the noid light does not come on but you confirmed 12 volts positive, but no ground then you have an open between the injector and the PCM. If the noid light comes on but does not flash or flicker, then there's either a short to ground in the wire from the injector to the PCM, or a faulty driver within the PCM itself causing an internal short.

How do I get an oil pan from a 2002 V6 ford escape off. the exhaust system seems to be in the way and when I take off the bolts holding the pieces together, it looks fused together. What now?

More tgank likely you'll have to remove a motor mount, at least on one side to shimmy the pan assembly out. Hope this helps

I had the transmission rebuilt last august a 2002 ford escape 3.0. It worked fine until yesterday. It just slips

First check the fluid, add as necessary then return to the shop that did the work, it should be under warranty. I hope this helps. Take care.

2002 ford escape sunroof partially opens. It closes all the way

The cables in the roof are probably damaged and rusted. Also some sunroofs only open half way. But you sound like it used to open all the way.

How to adjust gearshift linkage in a 2002 Ford escape

Hi. These SUVs are known to have a bushing failure that affects the shift cable. is the cable loose and sloppy? if so please inspect the end of the shift cable under the dashboard. If your issue is different and you need to adjust (recenter) the shift selections. The adjustment is a single 10mm bolt at the end of the cable, at the transmission. Easy. Loosen the bolt and slide the cable until the tension is neutral, tighten and test.
