What causes pinging and how to fix for 2001 ford F-150 4.2 V6

pinning ( detonation) is caused from a combination of air/fuel mixture octane rating and timing. IT is the spontaneous combustion ( without timed spark) and occurs when the air/fuel mixture is too lean and the mixture is fired by hot points in the combustion chamber Run fault codes to check for faulty o2 sensors /MAP/MAF sensors . Try a tank of higher rated octane fuel to see it that fixes the problem. If you are using an E mix fuel then it is not as good in some cars as claimed.

How do i tell where my problem is when i get an engine code p0174 on a 97' ford e350

Here is a solution that makes sense. A code P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry. There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor. Possible solutions include: In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure. 1997 E350 Eldorado bus passenger heater blowing cold air

There is a separate heater core, like a small radiator, which needs hot water running through it, so when the air blows over it, the air gets hot. It sounds like the diverter valve which sends the hot water to this heater core is not working. It could be a problem with the valve itself, or the relay or switch that controls it, or the vacuum line or device that opens the valve when the switch or relay tells it to open.

The cargo door won't open from either side and we

Take door panel off first, when you get that removed take a look at the rods that go to the handle & lock, if they are connected then try & move them back & forth to see if they solve the problem. ( note also check to see if there is a build up of dirt other things that could be in the way of rod travel, they have to move freely , another thing after you have solved the problem is to look & see if you can fine any place where there might be where the dirt is making it's way in, if so plug the leak as best you can. pick up some spray lube to spray on any moving parts). I hope this helps. Alvin
