1994 Ford Crown Victoria Questions & Answers

since the fuses are ok i would try the servo this is the piece that looks like two face. it has a solid back on one side and a rubber front on the other it should be around your master cylinder. check to make sure that the wires arent frayed or have come loose.
It have a 1994 crown victoria it ran out of gas I
Air in the fuel line. Take one small wire off the starter relay and turn and hold the key in the start position for a while. Listen for the fuel pump. It will run fast for a second then slow down. When it does, put the wire back on the starter relay and crank the engine.
1994 crown victoria engine races
Problem with idle speed. The idle is controlled by the pcm (engine computer) through the operation of the Idle Air Control valve or motor. But several other sensors are also at work, like the throttle position sensor, the coolant temperature sensor, the MAP sensor or the Mass Air Flow sensor. The computer monitors all engine conditions to optimize performance and driveability-this includes keeping idle speed correct.
Would probably help you if you could see what all those sensors are telling the pcm-so you need a scanner capable of giving live stream data. And don't forget, your '94 is OBD-1, not OBD-II like all cars since 1996 on have. A garage should have such capable scanners, but they are kind of high end, not your typical cheap code scanner.
Negative voltage at tail lights
Thanks Syntax Error for letting us know you figured out the wiring harness was wired incorrectly. It is always a good idea to look up the color wiring standard for the socket and to check the pin positions and what functions .
Sometimes trailers can be wired incorrectly also ?
I wired the licence plate bulb to my brown wire by mistake and this is the brake wire . Took a while for me to figure that one out !
Blue smoke coming from tailpipe
If it is only occurring at start-up, you may only have some leaky valve seals. This is a problem that can wait a while for repairs, until other internal engine work is needed. Just watch the oil level. If it is a constant thing, and you are seeing a relatively unusual oil consumption, then you are most likely seeing oil burning from worn piston rings and/or cylinder walls. If it gets bad enough, an engine rebuild is in order.
Does stop smoke really work for engine
It might, for a while. Unfortunately, these are temporary measures that are not repairs, but are cover-ups for the more serious issue that hasn't been addressed. In some cases, these products can actually do more harm than good, as they are designed to plug up leaks from small gaps. Sometimes they plug the wrong gaps and cause other problems. The real solution is to properly repair the problem. If that is not feasible or you are trying to nurse a dying horse a short while longer, than weight the benefits versus the risks and roll the dice, and hope for a good result. I, personally, would not use such products in my own vehicles.
How do i replace the motor mounts on my 1994 crown
I can only forewarn you about several things to watch for in hope of providing you with something to prevent you from breaking something.
You must also consider loosening the transmission mounts to free up the entire drivetrain. There may be some clearance problems at the rear of the motor and the Radiator hoses may not stretch, nor may the fixed A/C lines to the front A/C cooler allow much travel space.
The oil pan is not a lifting point, nor is the crankshaft pulley. The exhaust system is not flexible either.
Your best bet is to look at the actual motor mount and see whether the mount is flush or has protruding studs. Flush shaped will be easier to handle. An 1/4 inch of clearance would allow you to slide parts through the opening.
You could still get another Expert to answer. I owned a 1994 Crown Vic and was underneath it many times, but never changed a motor mount on it.
