How do I remove oil pan gasket?

Use a putty knife to scrape old gasket from the engine block and the pan. Put a punch that is larger in diameter that the bolt holes of the pan in a vise and use a hammer to flatten the pan around the bolt holes before installing the new gasket so it won't squeeze the new gasket when you tighten the pan bolts.

My right headlight wont work and dash lights flicker on and off, what couls it be?

There are many possibilities ranging from loose plugs to bad alternator (the part that keeps your battery charged while the car is running), but the most troubling one is a "short". If you don't know what that is, it's where an electric cord is touching something else and the electricity is passing from one to the other going where it's not supposed to. This can potentially destroy sensitive electronics and/or start a fire. Most auto repair places will do a free electrical system inspection for you. I included one such place as a link here but you can also try Autozone, O'Reilley's, etc. Bring your vehicle to Tireman when you are having electrical system issues

Code B2583 diagnosis

It would seem to be a fuse or fusible link problem. Check the wiring diagram in the shop manual for the vehicle and check the fusible link that is common to headlight and fuel pump power supply and the other systems which are not working. If the fusible link checks okay check the main multipoint connector in the main wiring harness to the fuse block from the battery.

05 gmc canyon traction control power fault

First you'll need to take it to have DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes check to find out what part of the system is at fault ! Could have a sensor , control module ,or wiring problem ! Traction Off Indicator The traction off indicator, which is a LED located on the traction control switch, illuminates only when the traction control switch has been pressed and released, disabling traction control. It is important to note that a traction fault does not illuminate this indicator and that there is no relationship between this indicator and the traction fault message. Traction Fault Message The IPC displays the traction fault message when either of the following instances occur. ?€¢ The EBCM detects a malfunction that requires traction control to be disabled. The EBCM sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting that the message be displayed.

?€¢ The IPC detects a loss of serial data communication with the EBCM

Traction Control System (TCS) When drive wheel slip is noted while the brake is not applied, the EBCM will enter traction control mode. The EBCM uses a 5-volt pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal to request the PCM to reduce the amount of torque to the drive wheels. The PCM reduces torque to the drive wheels by retarding spark timing and by commanding the throttle actuator control. The PCM uses a 5-volt PWM signal in order to report to the EBCM the amount of torque delivered to the drive wheels. You would need a factory grade scan tool to check data PID's - parameter identification , all the sensors work within a specific voltage range 1- 5 volts an you can see this on a good scan tool ! The Traction control is part of the ABS system an there a several DTC possible DTC B0827 DTC B0828 DTC B2745 DTC C0035 DTC C0035 or C0040 DTC C0040 DTC C0055 DTC C0110 DTC C0191 DTC C0201 DTC C0220-C0229 DTC C0240 or P0856 DTC C0244 or P1689 DTC C0245 DTC C0267 or C0268 and C067 or C068 DTC C0550 DTC C0899 DTC C0900 You best bet is to take it to a qualified repair shop ! Sometimes my truck start will not start but if I turn the key off and wait for ten minutes and try again it will start.

I have had this same issue with both my personal truck and MANY customers cars. Every time, it was something different. Ignition Module, Immoblizer, Corrosion on the Battery, Loose Wire on the Starter, Neutral Safety Switch and Key... ... You need to troubleshoot it while it is not working.

My 2005 gmc canyon just started blowing smoke out tail pipe but it doesnt do it everytime i start it. is this bad?

Possibly a leak in the head gasket. Take out the plugs and see if they are water wet. Run a compression check.

My truck wont always start bought a new battery so thats not it auto zone said not getting enough air when it starts

Is the battery turning over the engine properly or is it barely cranking over? The main function of a battery is to provide the power to turn the engine over until the engine starts, then it's only function is to help regulate the voltage in your system along with the alternator. Will the truck start when you hook it up to jumper cables? If the engine is turning over properly and the truck not starting, the battery is not the problem. You then need check out other things. For a gasoline engine to run, it requires three things; fuel to burn, compression in the engine and a spark at the right time to ignite the fuel. You must have all three for it to work.

How to reset the antitheft system on a 2005 gmc canyon it turns but wont stay on what do i need to do an i need to know quick

If the truck has a factory anti-theft system, the system will not allow the engine to crank or start. So if it cranks, you have a different problem.
