My vw golf 4 2.0l won't rave but idles roughly

check spark plugs and distributor. look for bad wear and missing parts. It must be a faulty spark plug which is not igniting fuel in one cylinder. If you decide to replace the plugs its best to change all of them.

Check engine light comes on in my 2000 tdi

Hi!

It might be the reason why the check engine light come on. And all i can say is you need to scan your can and pull the code and bring it back to see whats wrong because it maybe some to do with Transmission shift solenoids usually when they get stuck open or close a code gets stored in the ECM. Good luck

Plastic water outlet valve cracked,

fan comes on when you gas it, check the charging system, also is there any coolant leaks that you see? and does it overheat at idle quickly the reason I say this it has a plactic propellor and the water pump and they tend to fall apart, so you can be looking at a water pump, sure you can fix this but if its the waterpump its part of the timing belt, if its the thermostat you can fix that but be carefull the plastic housing tend to crack apart, and remeber the radiator can be plugged for the fan to kick on when you gas it check the charging voltage also thats a good indication the waterpump has internally fallen apart

Hello i have a 00 vw golf 1.4 petrol and someone

Hello and welcome to Fixya!

As a first course of action, have an engine tune up. Try to check and replace the spark plugs too. If the plugs have big gaps, corroded, covered with carbon or faulty the car may have problem on cold start ups.

Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

When filling the coolant it pours out somewhere in

Does it run OK? (You can run it for 20 or 30 seconds with low coolant.) If it runs bad, it could be a bad head gasket. (Although it could run fine and still be bad, but it's less likely).
Most likely it's a bad heater hose. How old are they? If they are over five years old, that would be my guess. Change the thermostat and radiator hoses at the same time, if they haven't been changed recently either.
Try to see exactly where it's coming out. You might need a friend to keep adding water as you look and feel around. The heater hoses are about the same size as a garden hose and run from near the front of the engine (which is on the right or passenger's side of the compartment in this car) to the heater core, which is located behind the dash, also on the passenger's side. They are usually black but can be red.
