Water in the oil
If you check the oil dipstick and the oil is clean, not milky , then the problem is simple. Condensation under the oil cap is normal on vehicle that are not driven often or do not get up to temperature. If the engine is not used then the moisture in the air collects at the high point of the engine. You can leave the oil cap loose if the vehicle is to be stores for a long period of time,This should help .
Are all petrol tanks the same size or does it go
Assuming you are asking are all Petrol tanks same size on VW Golfs... if thats the question then the answer is YES..The engine size does not affect the Petrol tank size only consumption (kilometers per litre/ or miles per gallon depending your location...assumed since you called it Petrol you are European) The different YEAR models would have different capacities and or shapes depending on configuration of the vehicle.. but the Golfs didnt go under much design change from 99-2002 so you should be safe if looking for a replacement.

I have a 2000 vw passat there is a round cicle with 3 broken lines each side of it
hi.
that is the warning for either low brake fluid level, or low brake disks.
check the fluid level in the reservoir and top up as needed. if the fluid level is okay, then you will need to check the thickness of the material on the brake pads. if you are not sure how to do these checks, then I would recommend getting a mechanic to check it for you. most garages will do a free brake check if you ask them.
hope this helps. paul
Wgolf.mk4.reg2000.removing upper part inlet manifold.
If you have a 2000 VW Golf 2.0 liter, the answer is yes. Just remove the top part of the intake manifold. A magnet and long handle allen key set will make the job easier for removing/ reinstalling the cap screws. Once manifold off, cover the intake holes with blue painters tape, to avoid dropping any thing down in them. Take care on plug wire removal. Change each plug one at a time. ***Tighten spark plugs with a torque wrench, spec 22 ft-lb in the Bentley manual. AEG, AVH, AZG eng codes***
Why won't first gear engage?
If this is a manual then it is probable that the clutch system needs attention. Check fluid level in reservoir, bleed out air and/or replace clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder as a last resort.. This is provided that you have not just done a clutch kit job and put the clutch plate in the wrong way round.
