The immobilizer shuts off the engine control module. The fusebox has a positive feed from the battery. Check the battery connectors (both pos. and neg.) Thighten bolts and look for corrosion. Measure between pos lead on battery and point where power is missing. The voltage measured here is the voltage drop and indicates where the problem is. Move one tester pin along the circuit to narrow down the problem. Repeat for the negative circuit..

VW have 2 temp. sensors.one for computer and one for radiator fan you need scanner to check the temp.also vw is very bad with vacuum hoses braking.oil deep stick is part of the vacuum system.broken deep stick tube will cost the same symptoms.

check for vacumme leaks when was last tune up? plugs wires cap rotor FUEL FILTER airfiter

thrust bearing needs replacing clutch

some times when you let the state of charge get too low the meter will not come back up so there for you will have to reset the meter. just unplug the main pos terminal from the meter then plug it back in. if it is a curtis meter or if it says ezgo on it that is the solution.

I don't know where your leak is happening but I suspect the transmission fluid attacks rubber and may be leaking from the heater because of softened hoses.
I think the first move I would make is to buy a Haynes or Chilton service manual and spend some time researching how the transmission and cooling systems are related. The books are available at auto parts stores (or on line of course) and cost between $17-$30 US.  

bent the shaft while going thru thick material or its out of alignment..may be able to bend it back with a pliers..

if solenoid is sticking try hit it . if it starts change your starter.

get a spark plug tester. remove the lead from the coil,now fit one side of the tester to the coil and other side of the tester to your coil lead then someone turn over the engine as you watch for a spark.

could you have knocked a wire loose while doing the needle and seat-does the soleniod click-does the battery show 12v- Denny

Check your coil.

hi there, it will be one of two ways, either theres a little horse shoe shaped clip that sits inbetween the winder and the door panel, failing that then the middle of the winder should flick out and there will be a screw that screws through the winder and into the panel, hope this helps
