93 Grand am rough idle/misfiring

There is a loose connection on the sensor, or clean it with a fine Sandy paper, it's best to replace. If the problem persists, see a specialist.

Where is the horn relay located

Hi Ricky: That could be a trick question as a lot of the older vehicles did not have a horn relay. This is where a bit of wire tracing will come in handy. If you find the horn(s) you can use a jumper wire from the batter positive terminal and touch the horn where the wire attaches. You'll know if the horn is functional. - Having someone listen under the hood (engine off) while you press the horn button should make the solenoid click if there is one. - check the fuse panel for a horn fuse, and make sure that there is power. If there is power at the downstream side of the fuse, check for power at the horn when the button is pressed. - Have a ponder about how well the horn worked BEFORE the problem started, and ask yourself if anything specific happened that might have caused the problem. Cheerfuls!

Why want my 1993 Pontiac Grand am want make a sound when I turn the ignition switch to run, battery is charged, all the lights comes on ,but the starter want say nothing?

Check to see if you have power to the solenoid (on top of the starter). Connect power to the small wire on it for a second. Any results? Use a screwdriver to bridge the two large connection bolts on the end for a second. Sparks and engine turn over?

I was driving my 1993 grand am se down the free

Probably lost either spark or fuel. First try some starting fluid into the throttle body (take off the big air boot) and see if the engine tries to run on it. If it does, you need to see if the fuel pump quit working. Best is to check fuel pressure-autozone and others rent or loan fuel pressure gauges. If pressure is not there with key on, likely a bad fuel pump. (you should hear the pump turn on for 2 seconds when turning the key to on, not start-this will pressurize the lines up to the fuel rail and to the injectors. Listen for the pump to turn on.) If you have gas up to the engine, and the starting fluid caused nothing, check for spark. Buy a spark tester from a parts store and check for spark on 2 or 3 spark plug wires. If no spark, the ignition system went out. This is often due to the Crank Position Sensor or the Ignition Control Module.

How are the spark plugs wired from the coil pack?

You didn't mention whether this was a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder. Below is a link to the procedure for swapping them out, and down around step 7 is a diagram that shows where each cylinder connects to the coil pack. Cavalier is the Chevy equivalent of the Grand Am. Same parts and procedures usually work for both. V6Z24 How To Plug Wire Replacement

1993 pontiac grand prix 3.1 le stalls at normal driving speed and is hard to restart. After it restarts I can hold the gas down and put it gear and take off.It runs great with accellerator opened up wi

that is flooding, (lots of causes that) that throttle hold down is in the operators guide, called WOT unflood mode. it cut fuel 100% it starts via, excess fuel, in engine. clears then starts and runs. ever do a full tuneup? Flooding. (engine good) bad spark. Cold starts need perfect spark , unlike a hot engine. so tune up time, for most cars 60,000 miles, some need sparks every 39k (RTM read the manual in glove box,) it tells you. as does the FSM state this, and how. If flooding is not tune up related, then it is> 1: leaking injectors. 2: too high fuel pressure. 3: bad inputs to the PCM (like ECT reads too low temp) scan IT. 4: ISC stuck closed ,staring, the engine of air as start. to test this #4 theory, (told in newer car operators guides) is to start car with 10% throttle , start now? that may prove ISC stuck closed. ever examine spark plugs, they speak volumn's. these are new plugs, and are soaking in raw fuel. on old plugs. its hopeless. (even weaker spark) we use tools to find cause, got tools? 1d8b9d14-8c9e-4073-91fa-ed9d17283103.jpg
